Bullying Essay
Bullying Bullying is a form of verbal and physical abuse. For example, the simplest words or jokes can hurt in many different ways. I think people act the way they do because it makes them feel superior to others. The words of bullies can cause emotional and physical harm to their victims. People who are exposed to bullying can be traumatized for an extended period of time. Even though the bullying may stop, one can be fearful not knowing if, or when, it may happen again.
Bullying conquers all over the world, virtually or face to face. It can hurt
emotionally or physically. Victims who are bullied have the potential to lose their self esteem and image. They can have a higher risk of depression, anxiety and possibly of having suicidal thoughts. Some say it’s the toughest and challenging thing they have experienced. Bullying is the most common situation that can happen to anyone and anywhere. Often, children bully because of situations that are around their surroundings for example family problems or to gain popularity. There are a ton of reasons why one would bully another, for example peer pressure. Peer pressure can cause horrific consequences due to bullying. One can commit suicide due to the actions of what was being said. No one really knows what to do when they are being constantly bullied. Some are typically afraid to tell their parents or the school about the harsh words that are being said or some just don’t want to deal with it at all and decides to make drastic decisions on themselves. Bullies
don’t realize how much words can hurt.
Recently Jamey Rodemeyer (age 14), took his own life due to the fact that he was being bullied for having a different sexual orientation. Jamey’s death sparked a nationwide attempt to help stop bullying. Since
Jamey's death awareness of bullying has become more of an issue and more actions are being taken to reduce the amount of bullying. States have been passing laws
