Bullying is a problem in society today. It happens not only at schools, but in your community. It can affect anybody, no matter what race or age you are. Bullying can be prevented, you just need to stand up and speak up when you see bullying happening where ever you are. For example, if you are at school and you see someone pushing another kid around, you can go up to them and tell the bully to leave him alone and he’d stop.

To start off, bullying occurs because some students think it’s amusing to see kids being picked on since they know the victim wouldn’t do anything about it. Some kids also think it’s quite amusing to see others get picked on or teased about because of what they are wearing, or about their flaws. Students do not realize all the harm that they are creating, both mentally and physically. The victim can result to feeling like a sack of pennies, and end up hurting themselves or even killing themselves.

Therefore, with every problem comes a solution. Some possible solutions for bullying is to speak up for yourself. If you’re the one who is the victim don’t be afraid to tell your parents or a trusted adult. If you see someone being bullied then don’t just stay quiet or laugh at them. If you do one of those, then you’re just as bad as being the bully. If you see someone being bullied you should stick up for them just how you would want them to if they were in your shoes. If you happen to see anybody being mentally or physically bullied then you shouldn’t hesitate to notify someone before the situation gets out of hand.

Unfortunately, consequences come along also. If you were to be the bully, you would get caught and you could get suspended, expelled, and even arrested. If you decide to bully someone you are breaking the law. Bullying isn’t worth someone taking their life and throwing it down the drain.
