BUILDING A POSITIVE ENVIRONMENTAL LEGACY

In episode five we learn all about building a positive environmental legacy that will benefit the future generations. In episode five the key topics that are discussed include:
Defining environmental sustainability.
Comparing and contrasting environmental conservation and preservation efforts
Explaining how risk assessment could be applied in a given situation.
Rationalizing a sustainable plan for addressing an environmental issue.
Integrating globalization into a sustainability plan.

The economy and environment need to be balanced in Sparksville because they are independent on another. The reason for this is that the economy depends on the state of the environment and the economy also can destroy the environment and therefore balance is required to ensure equity. Social responsibility, ability and change are the key principles way to reaching environmental sustainability.
The reasons for using these as the key principles for making the environmental sustainable is as follows. Change is a principle that will be used to make people that are unaware of that they are harming the environment to be made to conserve the environment. Change is quite a difficult principle to effect on people as they tend to resist it. Change will be embraced through educating the people and making them participate in exercises that conserve the environment. Ability is a principle that will keep people to protect their environment. It is what that will keep pushing them forward to conserve the environment at all costs.
Environmental factors and economic factors have to be balanced in order for Sparksville to prosper. The economy of Sparksville is run by industries

Well, I think that the people of Sparksville want to see their industry grow as well. Industrial growth would mean more jobs, expansion of neighborhood, and the building of new schools. In all, a town can see many economic benefits from its industry. We are working on policies that may allow the town to grow, but also protect its surroundings. In fact, we do not want to risk to drive away the predator species of the prairie dogs. We already did it once, and paid the harsh consequences. It is necessary to have policies that control industrial growth, while still allowing our town to benefit from it. We need to manage the reserve, so that nothing takes that precious area. We need to protect our ranches, and pay close attention to all the species…

The next option was the car manufacturing plant, Epic Generation Automotive, a hybrid car manufacturer. This company would employee 1,000 people from Sparksville, with a wide variety of career opportunities. This company would help economic development by having the ability to grow. The company is focused on being “green” and using “green” technologies to minimize their carbon footprint. Green technology is used for the intent to reverse or mitigate the effects of human activity on the environment. ("Green Technology - What Is It?", 2015).…

In today’s society, we find ourselves overwhelmed with the proliferation of environmental crises around the globe. The trade off between sustainability and economic growth is still of discourse as mankind has the ability to mass produce more than ever before. With that in mind, Sustainability, by Leslie Paul Thiele defines and discusses the topic of sustainability. While Thiele’s text is engaging due to the areas of discussion, I argue that it is not an adequate guide as he fails to provide a thorough explanation of how solutions should be implemented.…

With today’s growing population, resource consumption is becoming a huge concern. It is important that humans realize what is best for both our present and future generation, and what is best for our planet. We must preserve certain areas from being destroyed to keep their natural beauty. We should also conserve resources, so they can continue to flourish, but also so we can continue to live our lives without depleting these resources. Every individual unit of the environment works together to maintain a balance that supports the cycle of life. Humans must co-exist in a positive way with these units. We should live in a way that does not exploit any part of nature. We should not only respect and sustain the environment for our own benefit and for future generations, but also because nature itself is good on its own.…
