Teaching a couple to communicate
Russell Cash

Rosa Farmer May 19, 2013

Providing advice to a newly engaged or newly married couple would be very challenging. Because they feel like they know everything about their relationships. So the fact that they are asking for help says a lot about them wanting to make their relationship livelong. This says that they are willing to listen and learn from someone who has a little more knowledge about relationships. Words can be extremely effective in a relationship; however their impact can have a negative impact if they are not used properly. If negative words are used with a negative tone they are going to be perceived in a negative manner.
If you want to have good communication, it’s the positive tone and words you choose which will make the best impact. The proper use of words can make or break a conversation. People are more likely to communicate and discuss issues if you speak respectfully and polite rather than negative. Positivity always goes farther than negativity especially in today’s world. With all the negativity that is already surrounding us on a daily basis it is so important to try to keep a positive aspect on our lives and relationships.
How do you teach someone to be positive in their relationship? Every day is almost impossible to be perfect and keep negative thoughts and comments from coming up. There is going to be negative things that come up but teaching young couples how to manage those incidents and not let them turn into something more devastating is going to be the key to success. There are many aspects to work on with couples of all ages. One of the main things to teach is listening skills; like that listening is a key part of proper communication. Listening has proven to have much more of an impact on relationships than talking. It is all about why you say something or how you say it that impacts how well people are going to listen to the words that come out of your mouth.

If people lack the ability to communicate well, they can limit their ability to connect with others and at the extreme can create conflict. I will admit that in order for me to have positive communication I have to be in a good mood. If I am not in a good mood I can become rude. The things that contribute the most to my mood is if I am tired or hungry. My boyfriend usually demonstrates positive communication, but if I am not doing the same he will not either. My daughter usually has positive communication, but at the same time she is short tempered because of her being a toddler. Hopefully, the older she gets the longer she is able to demonstrate positive communication during a conversation.…

Throughout history, people have been trying to create an improved, fair, and equal system of justice, not only to better society in which one lives, but to also find a sense of meaning in what responsibilities people should hold within their civilizations in order to create this just way of living. As early as the Old Testament within the Bible, we see examples of how the Hebrews formed their own justice. This can be seen in the in text of the Ten Commandments which were written in a form of law. Laws were significant even in this basic form of context, such as the Ten Commandments, which offered the ideas of right and wrongdoings and the sin for violating others for one’s own benefit. This not only harmed the person but harmed the civilization as a whole where respect was considered essential during this time among each other (honor thy neighbor). Overall, the law of the Ten Commandments was considered essential to forming a better and fair society within the Hebrew system of justice. The systems of justice do not stop here. The Greeks and Romans were known for developing a justice system which laid out rules, laws, and rights for the people to follow, and even created a justice of a trial with jury in order to make sure trials were fair for the accused criminals who did not follow the justice system. Today, we take pieces of what we have learned from centuries ago to create our own form of justice in order to maintain a better society. We use this previous basic knowledge in order to shape and help uphold our own foundation towards protecting the good of our society.…

Communication climate is shaped by the way people feel about each other. There is a positive communication climate when people feel as they are valued through the messages. People interact confidently and civilly. For a positive communication climate to be established the relationship between people is built on honest and trust. At Lutheran Medical Group, I have observed the sense of positive communication climate on a daily basis. With each patient to enter our office, it is our job to build that trust and be willing to speak to them. This comes into play with coworkers too. There is a positive communication climate when I have to ask a coworker about an issue I may be having, I trust their opinions when I ask questions and they offer feedback. On the other hand, negative communication climate happens when people do not feel respected. It makes it difficult to obtain information to take action if people feel uncomfortable and are unwilling to interact with you. Questions won't be asked, ideas won't be offered, and there will be no feedback. There are barriers that come with communication climate as well. One of the biggest barriers is considered to be bypassing. Everyone interprets words in different meanings. Bypassing can cause major miscommunication between people who assume different meanings to words. For successful communication, the receiver and the sender must establish the same meanings to their words. Another barrier that may come into play would be a frame of reference. Everyone has their own frame that is formed from a combination of your experiences, education, culture, expectations, and personality. The barrier pertaining to the lack of language skill can cause some miscommunication as well. There must be good language skills to express an idea. Out of all the barriers that may come with communication, I…

Every day, and I mean every day, the world slowly gets a better chance of surviving an epidemic. But every day, the world slightly perishes and begins to crumble. And I don’t mean literally crumble. Maybe just a little. But anyways the world starts becoming a bad place to live in. Whether it’s from pollution or foreign matter. But I will be talking about pollution mostly. People pollute every second of the day. I’m serious. And the bad thing is that there may not be a way to stop these people from polluting. Governments and agencies have tried numerous times to encourage people to stop even if it’s slowly at a time. And now they try to help by coming out with electric cars and allow recycling more often. Yet is it enough? It may be but then again it’s most likely not. You see, the sun lets light in so we can see and have nutrients. And there is the little thing called the ozone layer that keeps a little of the sun in but not a lot of it. With the ozone layer, the heat and light from the sun bounces back towards itself. Like I said, the ozone layer only allows a little of the sun in. yet, by pollution the ozone layer becomes thinner and thinner allowing more sun to come in and fry us. I’ll break it down for you. Lets take smoke from refineries or a car. The smoke goes in to the air and mixes with the clouds. But some of that smokes breaks through and collides with the ozone layer causing erosion which makes the ozone layer thinner, allowing more sun in. Pollution is bad! But that’s not the only kind of pollution. Lets talk about out lovely streets and plants. Although its hard to call them lovely. Take an ordinary beautiful garden maintained by caring people. Example: Bob waters his garden and clears it of weeds regularly. Everyone who walks by tells Bob that his garden is beautiful with a capital B. yet what Bob and all the others don’t know is that under that beautiful garden lies deadly fumes that slowly kill the flowers. A year later, Bob finds his garden…
