1. A person wishes to purchase a personal computer for home usage. Identify the internal hardware components this computer should contain.…
| Also known as “Personal Computers”, it is a kit comprised of various components that, when properly assembled, creates a stand-alone processing system.…
A motherboard (mobo) is basically the main circuit board of a computer system. All the different components such as CPU, memory, hard drives, optical drives, video card and sound card are attached individually to the motherboard. However, the motherboard is perhaps the most essential hardware component of a computer system as it enables all the other hardware components to work together.…
The motherboard is the foundation of the computer. Everything that makes up a computer has to be attached to the motherboard. The motherboard has many components such as a processor, memory, chipset, expansion slots, and inputs/outputs.…
1.1 - You need a Motherboard, CPU (Central Processing Unit), RAM (Random Access Memory), Power Supply Unit, Hard drive(s), CD/DVD ROM Drive, And any expansion cards if needed, I.E. Wireless Card, Graphics Card etc., in this case I required a graphics card and a Wireless Card. Making sure all components are compatible with each other, for example all parts must be Intel OR AMD and all the same chip types, i.e. Socket AM2+ CPU will not work in a socket AM3 Board.…
When going with the idea that you are setting up your own manufacturing facility- ask questions for how much chips are needed, what their costs are, what all equipment you need etc.…
Before generation of Microprocessors i.e. in 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation computers, the computer was usually built in a card-cage case or mainframe with components connected by a backplane consisting of a set of slots themselves connected with wires; in very old designs the wires were discrete connections between card connector pins. But printed circuit boards soon became the standard practice in the late 1970s. The Central Processing Unit, memory and peripherals were housed on individual printed circuit boards which plugged into the backplane. (A backplane is a circuit board that connects several connectors in parallel to each other, so that each pin of each connector is linked to the same relative pin of all the other connectors, forming a computer bus.)…
Computers are one of those technologies that, as the years pass, get more complicated yet simpler at the same time. The truth is, a person need not know anything at all of transistors, capacitor or the whole bunch to "build" a computer. All you really need to know are two important things. One is to always keep yourself (electrostatically) grounded, and secondly, you need to know how to put a jigsaw puzzle together. Now one would ask what a jigsaw puzzle has to do with computers, and rightly so! Well, here it is: Computers are jigsaw puzzles! All of the parts fit together only one certain way and are usually marked or color coded. So, when you get down to it, if the part doesn't fit, then it just doesn't go there!…
First I will start off with a gaming system that is preconfigured and has all the components needed for a simple gaming system. Since we have money to play with I upgraded some components. I will go though the major componets and discuss upgrading or not upgrading. Below is an image of the final dream machine.…
Most people don’t think of what is actually inside their computer when they power it on, but they would be shocked and intrigued to know that anyone can build a computer of their own. Opening the case of their computer would be a taunting experience and most would be in immediate confusion. But once they get familiar with the components, they will find it to be an easy task. Most of all, building one’s own system is fun. Technology has become increasingly complex, but PCs are modular (Ralph). To build a new computer, a potential builder will need to have knowledge of the components inside, a substantial amount of time, and the ability to read instructions.…
According to Prof. More Manojkumar, (2009), various factors that would be considered when buying computers are discussed here bellow;…
The PC board design is fairly straightforward and can be made by laser printing to special paper or a page from TIME magazine, then ironing the image onto copper-clad board, then etching with ferric chloride. There are a few jumper wires. The power source needs to be at least 15 volts. A 12 volt DC adapter usually produces about 17 volts, so that's a good choice. Two 9-volt batteries in series will work too. Solder directly to the PC board or use a connector that mates with your power source. Pay attention to the direction of the voltage regulators because the plastic regulators are backward from the tab type. Substitute Japanese or European generic equivalents for the transistors and diodes, but remember that the pinouts will be different. A right angle PC mount DB-25M connector is specified, but a conventional solder-cup DB-25M connector works, see the picture how I did it.…
Secondly, what is a computer? A computer is a machine that lets me type, watch videos, play games and do various activities. It comes with a keyboard, speakers, disk operator, hard drive, monitor and a screen that allows me to view these activities. What sets a computer different from a human? Generally speaking, we can begin with its appearance. It looks nothing like a human. However, it…

Maintaining a computer is very easy, it is easier to assemble it than to write it here. You only need a bit of practice to make your computer always excellent and durable which will help you to sustain your good job and to become more productive at work.…
