I am 4 to K12

Have you ever been wonder why do people have intelligences in very different ways? I, myself notice it in myself that I have such intelligences and abilities that I am performing in my daily life, and that is called the “multiple intelligences.” Who authored these multiple intelligences? Howard Gardner, author of “multiple intelligences”, postulated that humans have seven intelligences but later change to eight. Cercone Learning believes human have twelve intelligences. I will discuss every multiple intelligences and their function in our daily lives. For now, let’s define what intelligence is first. How is intelligence defined? According to Howard Gardner, intelligence "refers to the human ability to solve problems or to make something that is valued in one or more cultures. As long as we can find a culture that values an ability to solve a problem or create a product in a particular way, then I would strongly consider whether that ability should be considered intelligence" One of the intelligences that we have is observation. I notice that Einstein used this intelligence most frequently; it is because observation is full of curiosity and wonder. It is one of first intelligences that a child used to learn. It notices big ideas, small ones and the interconnection between. It marvels at the beauty of a tree leaf and how it grows. It observes patterns and strives to understand them, and it is also a key of intelligence for the genius mind and critical thinking. Observation is not only a part of process in scientific method but also it has a bigger part or role to everyone in making a step and decision in every decision making. The second one is imagination. What is imagination? Based on researches imagination is the ability to visualize; ability to form images and ideas in the mind especially things that never seen or experience directly. It is the ability to conceive – to picture. It creates the pictures that are needed for long term memory. It creates a new product. It creates a way of dealing with relationship so that everyone wins. It looks for the best possible solutions. It can see where one is caught in an old pattern and looks for ways to move out of old patterns that no longer serve. Imagination is a portal in our minds and it can put you into another dimension in this world or out of this world. Third is intuition. What is intuition? Intuition is an instinctive knowledge: The state of being aware of or knowing something without having to discover or perceive it, or the ability to do this. It has deeper connections with other brain function than are presently understood. It works closely with Imagination, reaches into the deeper aspect of genius and comes up with greater understandings even understandings that were not taught. It silently guides us from that part of us that is not always consciously present. It is that “gut feeling that one should or should not do something. t is an intelligence that has so much more that needs to be explored for it is one of the intelligence, until recently, that was quite closed. Fourth is visual or spatial. It gives you the ability to see pictures and visualize. It is opened up with color and many word pictures. The look and feel of the learning environment either closes or opens this intelligence. Pages, their outlines and spacings open this ability. It is the intelligence that needs to write or mind maps the learning material. It needs to take some kind of notes or make a list. It is the intelligence that needs to draw a picture in order to understand easier. It is artistic whether in art, creating notes that fit our style of learning or creating a unique daytimer that allows one to “see” time. Fifth is Music or Auditory. This area of the brain is most fascinating for it includes almost all of the intelligences. Music is a sport, an art, a science, mathematical, intuitive, creative, visual, spatial in sound, orderly, communicative and logical. Certain kinds of music open the genius mind and others easily close it. Certain kinds of music open creativity and others can close it. The auditory aspect of this intelligence is opened or closed by the human voice. The speed of the voice, the enunciation of the words and the rhyme cadence of the human voice can open this intelligence easily or through the improper use of the voice, the genius can be shut down in less than 5 seconds. There is music that is delicate to our mind and there are music that are not pleasant, depending on the mood of an invidual can affect a certain brain that is listening in a music. According to Howard Gardner that Musical intelligence is the capacity to think in music, to be able to hear patterns, recognize them, remember them, and perhaps manipulate them. People who have a strong musical intelligence don't just remember music easily--they can't get it out of their minds, it's so omnipresent. Now, some people will say, `Yes, music is important, but it's a talent, not intelligence.' And I say, `Fine, let's call it a talent.' But, then we have to leave the word intelligent out of all discussions of human abilities. You know, Mozart was damned smart! Sixth is the body or kinesthetic intelligence. What is it? Body or kinesthetic intelligence can be use in body languages, body memory and according to Howard Gardner that Bodily-kinesthetic intelligence is the capacity to use your whole body or parts of your body--your hand, your fingers, your arms--to solve a problem, make something, or put on some kind of a production. The most evident examples are people in athletics or the performing arts, particularly dance or acting. This is the “hands on” intelligence that learns from doing and feeling. It needs to act out, write down, and role-play. It needs some movement. It loves to play games associated with learning. It is an intelligence that understands the order and nature of mechanical workings. It is an intelligence that needs to build physical creations. It is artistic, mathematical and scientific. It uses observation, intuition, imagination and logic. It needs to write – but when color is used in the writing process, other intelligences are also activated. Another one is Creativity. What is creativity? It is the ability to conceive an idea , a way of working with an idea, a way of inventing a way of teaching or solving a problem, a way of thinking and a way of communicating. It is a way of living our life. It looks at any problem from many different viewpoints. Solution finding and logic are always present when creativity is open for logic loves to explore with creativity. It finds ways of speaking, doing housework, driving. It is in every aspect of life from how we dress, to our habits, to our thoughts and the way we write. It is not just art and music. Creativity is in how we choose to think, to act and find solutions where it felt like there were none. Eighth is Linguistics. What Linguistics do? It communicates with ourselves and others. This is the verbal and non verbal part of the brain. 90% of communication is non-verbal. Open communication intelligence reads, hears and understands the non-verbal aspect of communication. Thus a person who has this intelligence open works very effectively with others. It includes the language skills, the formulation of ideas into words, and the listening/hearing skills. It includes listening with the heart. It connects the heart and the brain. It also has the ability to look within and listen to the inner child, the inner dream. It has the ability to look at old patterns and change if they are no longer relevant. Ninth is Interrelating/Connecting. This intelligence overlooks all the intelligences, logically computes the data received from each and comes up with new ideas and interesting comparisons. It is discerning and perceives ways of working with ideas. It helps choice become wise. It puts concepts together while we may consciously be working on something else. It brings new ideas out of 2 different concepts because it saw some connection that allowed the intelligences to look deeper. Tenth is logic. What is logic and why it is consider as one of the intelligences? "People with highly developed logical-mathematical intelligence understand the underlying principles of some kind of a causal system, the way a scientist or a logician does; or can manipulate numbers, quantities, and operations, the way a mathematician does." That is according to Howard Gardner about logic. It is the art and science of reasoning. It looks for results and consults with the other intelligences. Logic does not mean: “Well, that’s the way it has always been done.” True logic is always growing, always moving into greater understandings. When logic is denied, the brain shuts down. To many, logic is equated with the negative ego or the judgmental/critical voice, for instance “I am not good enough.” Logic does not destroy our dreams but helps us to build. Logic does not put us down but encourages us to move forward. “I did not write a good article, how can I do it better?”Judgment hurts, logic does not. Eleventh is mathematical intelligences. Our whole environment is entwined with math, even our living cells and the structure of life is based on math. Math is a way of our daily life. Whenever math is used, a greater understanding of the subject comes forth. Look at fractal pictures which are math in art and then look at nature and see the math in nature. And last is the science intelligence. Science intelligence teaches you how to categorize, organize, and discover the principles and rules of nature, formulas and methodologies. It looks at how things can be accomplished in a step by step fashion. It organizes concepts for you to have a greater understanding of anything you attempt to do. It organizes pictures for you can see.

Perhaps these intelligences are gifts to us. It have a reason why people are so much gifted of these intelligences and a reason why others lack of it. We use these intelligences in different ways either is good or bad. These abilities will serves as our weapon and defenses in every seconds that will drop after a tik and a tok of a clock in a war that could possibly change a belief system after using these. If I could have all those one hundred perfectly, probably I am more than a Hollywood star and the people may put my name in every walls but I am just an ordinary student that have a simple life together with my family and friend with the help of God. I must consider that being wise is better than being an intelligent person and learning from others and my mistakes that I’ve conducted and created awhile ago.

    In A Rounded Version: The Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Howard Gardner introduces the idea of seven different intelligences, combating the idea of contemporary intelligence. Gardner defines the contemporary view of intelligence as, an individual 's intelligence test score based on his or her age with no regard to experience or training. In his words, "It is an inborn attribute or faculty of the individual." Gardner defines MI as a multiplication of the contemporary view, but with added emphasis on an individual 's ability to problem solve, or create a solution to a problem. Gardner 's 7 MI 's are Linguistic, logical, Mathematical, Spatial, Musical, Bodily Kinesthetic, Interpersonal and Intrapersonal. Each MI is paired with an example of an individual who displays in abundance the specific intelligence being discussed. Gardner discusses the idea that most intelligence 's are paired. In other words, a professional football athlete would most likely (in addition to his Bodily Kinesthetic ability) have Spatial intelligence allowing him to be aware of the opponents and team members around him. Gardner 's main reason to choose the intelligences he and his team did, in his words was, "We have begun with the problems that humans solve and worked back to the "intelligences" that must be responsible." Gardner concludes that while intelligences can work alone and independent of other intelligences, most of the time they work as a collection of aptitudes.…

These three aspects are reflective strategies that can contribute to self-understanding and classifying you personality.     Intelligence is an intrapersonal phenomenon, that is inside a person and it is generally agreed that the nature of this energy is unknown. Nevertheless, it may be known by its mental products (Groth-Marnet, 1997; Wechsler, 1939).     The nature of intelligence is a very interesting topic, which explains different theories of intelligence. The topic starts off with a couple of questions like: “Is intelligence a single trait or capability? Is it many capabilities unrelated to each other? Are there certain common factors that underlie intelligence? “These questions definitely catch the reader’s attention. There are four theories of intelligence throughout the article. The first is by Spearman and discusses general intelligence: The g Factor. The English Psychologist Charles Spearman states that intelligence has been considered as more or less a single entity. He observed that people who are good at one type of thinking or cognition tend to do well in other types as well. In other words, they tend to be generally intelligent. Spearman came to believe that intelligence is composed of a general ability, or g Factor, which underlies all intellectual function. I personally agree with Psychologist Charles Spearman’s point of view. I consider that intelligence is composed of a general ability, and that is why I believe in what is he saying. Second, Thurstone discusses seven Primary Mental Abilities. Thurstone identified seven primary mental abilities: Verbal Comprehension, numerical ability, spatial relations, perceptual speed, word fluency, memory, and reasoning. He maintained that all intellectual activities involve one or more of these primary mental abilities. Thurstone suggested that a profile showing relative strengths and weaknesses on the seven primary abilities would provide a more accurate picture of a person’s mental ability.
