Born to Run was released on August 15th, 1975 by Records American singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen. Springsteen was just 24, when the album was released and he was hailed as the New Bob Dylan. It was produced by Columbia, and was viewed as his breakthrough album. This album went to number three on Billboard200 and sold 6,000,000 copies by 2000. The album made several “Best Ever” lists and is listed in the Library of Congress National Recording Registry of historic recordings. When Born to Run vaulted into the top 10 in its second week on the charts (October 27, 1975) and soon went Gold, Time and Newsweek magazines put Springsteen on the cover that same week. The third album was very different from the first two. The first two were recorded in a suburban studio where as Born to Run was produced by Columbia Records. Bruce replaced two of his back-up band which gave the band a highly produced sound with lots of keyboards and drums, echo’s on vocals and layers of guitars. The cover art of Born to Run is one of rock music's most popular and iconic images. The photo shows Springsteen holding …show more content…
This song is about a woman who is a tease. The woman will kiss the man and even turn them on but will have nothing else to do with them. Eventually the man gets addicted to this girl and believes that she’s the one. He tries to break his addiction of her but she will always be the one. In the end the man keeps trying to break her and she resists. I think this song tells an interesting story about real life and love at first sight. The amount of imagery in this song immediately draws you in. I think it is pretty neat that whenever Bruce writes a song it is not just words but it is full of thought and meaning. This is one of those songs that many people remember as the song that was playing during their first kiss. The song is full of emotion and it brings emotions to those that listen to

Top 10 and stayed on the charts for well over a year, yielding the hit "Wild World." Stevens was now a highly successful concert performer as well. The next album was another hit; Teaser and the Firecat went to #3, then gold, and contained the hits "Morning Has Broken" (#6), "Peace Train" (#7), and "Moon Shadow" (#30). Though Catch Bull at Four and Foreigner were also certified gold, they yielded no big hits. At that time, unbeknownst to many of his fans, Stevens was living in Brazil, donating much of his earnings to charities such as UNESCO. With Buddah and the Chocolate Box, featuring "Oh Very Young" (#10), and Numbers, Stevens' sales dropped…

What makes this album so very innovative, is the way Dylan combined a driving blues-based style of music with a subtle touch of poetry in his lyrics, something as we know, Dylan was widely acclaimed for. The album’s critical appeal is mainly down to Bob’s skillful use of imagery in his lyrics created through metaphors, stories etc. Dylan uses the way of painting images to successfully communicate a story to the…

. Despite the attack and much deliberation, Marley still played at the show. The motivation behind the attack was never uncovered, and Marley fled the country after the concert. Living in London, England, Marley worked on Exodus, which was released in 1977. The title track draws an analogy between the biblical story of Moses and the Israelites leaving exile and his own situation. The song discusses returning to Africa. The concept of Africans and descendents of Africans repatriating their homeland can be linked to the work of Marcus Garvey. Released as a single, “Exodus” was a hit in Britain, as were “Waiting in Vain” and “Jamming,” and the entire album stayed on the U.K. charts for more than a year. Today, Exodus is considered to be one of the best albums ever made. Marley had a health scare in 1977. He sought treatment on a toe he had injured earlier…

Every song tells its own unique story; however the stories they tell are often up to interpretation. Bob James, the creator of the song Orpheus, wrote the song based on his interpretation of the myth. The music of Bob James continued to evolve and captivate audiences thought the world. Discovered by Quincy Jones at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival in 1963, Bob recorded his first solo album, Bold Conceptions, that year for Mercury Records. 36 more solo albums would follow through four decades; that number is just to date and does not include his Grammy award winning collaboration projects (bobjames.com). In 1985 Bob moved to Warner Bros Records and began that association with another million sellers and Grammy winner, Double Vision, his collaboration with David Sanborn, produced by Tommy LiPuma. "My Back pages" by Bob Dylan can be interpreted in any number of ways by any number of people for such is the beauty and artistry of his work. It possesses this quality which allows it to reach out and touch any individual who will permit it to do so. As far as what it is that these prose say to me I firmly believe that these lyrics are so elusive that their personal significance could change from moment to moment. As is such I will try to write quickly. In a general sense, with these verses Dylan is trying to say that the younger one is the more he thinks he knows but in reality he knows much less and as one approaches maturity he knows much more and is aware of that which he is in truth unaware.…

Everyone interprets a song differently, but I believe this was meant to be a love song. Beneath the catchy lyrics and upbeat rhythm lies a bed of sorrow and heartache. I believe people who just went through…

Lieder ohne Worte (Song without Words) is written by the Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. It is a collection of forty-eight short lyrical piano pieces of markedly song-like character that he wrote at various periods of his life between 1809 and 1847. They are well suited to the study of musical form because of their artistic value. Op. 19b, No. 1 Andante con moto in E major was written in 1830 and is the first in the collection. The piece is in the key of E major and modulates from E to B to G major.…

I also really love this song because of the lyrics and what the mean to me. I am one of those people who don’t care what anyone thinks about them. I am so confident in who I am and truly never let anyone bring me down. I know I’m better than people so it doesn’t matter to me. As I sit and listen to the lyrics, it really makes me think. Like i know that I judge, and I know I shouldn’t, but I do. And after listening to this song, it always opens my eyes. I don’t know what people are going through, and until I do, I shouldn’t judge in any way. This song is a different perspective of Eminem's life. He has always rapped about his difficult situation but people always listened to it from an outside perspective. This song is asking the listener to imagine being him for a minute before judging him.…
