The movie, Bridge to Terabithia, shows an example of an issue concerning moral and psychosocial development of a young girl and how her actions affect those around her. Janice Avery is the symbol of a school bully, and wreaks terror on anyone in her way at school. Problems at home impact Janice Avery’s development; due to the abuse she receives at home, she believes she has no self-worth and has to substitute the absence of self-esteem by bullying her peers.
With regard to psychosocial development, the characters depicted in the film exhibited different stages in the developmental process. Jess and Leslie portrayed the stage intimacy vs. isolation. They ignited an intimate relationship and created a utopia isolated from everyone else. This
