In the article " Women aren't funny? 'Bridesmaid' is putting that lame attitude to rest" written by McClatchy Tribune Services, argues that bridesmaid is funny and gives a comparison on male comedians and female comedians. The author gives some recap scenes from the movie and compares male/female comedians to certain tv shows.
In the article it includes recapped scenes that the audience most enjoy and thought it was pretty funny. For example when the ladies went to go visit a posh bridal salon after lunch at a dive that Wiig likes. After gone to eat they approach to the salon realizing all their stomachs turn upside down and cause a big scene to break the ice with the two best friends. It also shows how the two best friends ends up smiling at each other in another scene with food in their teeth.
In addition it compares male comedians and female comedians. For example it talks about how Jerry Lewis a famous comedian doesn't like any female comedians. And how that's okay because we can have millions of other women say how they didn't like any of Jerry Lewis's movies. In the beginning of the article, Robin refers to the movie, Knocked Up. This example can relate to the ethos of his argument because I was moved by his perspective. The example Robin uses is a movie called Knocked Up. The movie is about a rising journalist Alison Scott (Katherine Heigl), who gets pregnant after a one night stand with an irresponsible slacker Ben Stone (Seth Rogen). I have seen the movie, and never thought of it in Robin’s perspective. When I saw the movie, I thought of it as a way for people to connect because of a child’s birth. The journalist, Alison Scott, was very attractive, and Ben Stone was the opposite. No one would ever think that those two types of people would have a relationship. Robin says otherwise. Robin’s point of view of the movie is how Ben Stone is creative, which is shared by many members of his generation (482). Robin states “He creates because he’s too young and naïve to realize that the odds are stacked against him” (482). The character, Ben Stone is an example of being young and creative can lead to happiness.…

The way she used it, even though at times her humor was very subtle it was really effective she used it to keep the readers attention because with the topic about the economy the humor kept her story from being boring. It also helped her to relate with her readers and it made it more interesting to see what she was thinking and and her reaction to the things that were going on .She says “But the relevant point about Holly is that she is visibly unwell - possibly whiter, on a daily basis, than anyone else in the state . Nonetheless, people with opposing views of “Bikini Beach Party” find the sketch funny, for instance when Gadget is on the beach talking with her friends. People laugh at this type of scene because her friends converse about outrageous topics in a certain tongue and tone of voice. The audience laughs at the immature dialect spoken amongst the seven girls because they appear outright dumb and foolish. Other people as well as the audience may also think the dark humor of Darren and Gadgets age is funny, but in doing so they are laughing at something that is illegal and unquestionably creepy. The climax of the sketch is shown when the big dead gaseous whale that Darren and Gadget are standing next to erupts, ejecting blood and whale guts everywhere. The climax scene offered the most humor of the skit, as you can infer from being able to hear the background people hysterically laugh. The problem with this scene is that the gruesome fake blood and whale guts is just that, fake. Therefore, I stand firmly by my opinion in where I did not find a single item of humor in the SNL sketch “Bikini Beach Party”.…

Love is complicated, and there’s no denying the amount of effort it requires to have something real, none of that puppy dog crap. People seem to forget that the beginning to all deep, intimate relationships is the very first step. It all begins with that first look, and that first smile, and that first laugh. Like a marionette to a manipulator, someone snatches your heart with Cupid’s arrow and makes you dance. Your every thought, action, perception on life is altered for as long this person controls you. If there’s a chance, every living molecule in your body will tell you to chase your heart, and to go and win it all. In the movie Wedding Crashers, such feelings captivate John Beck (Owen Wilson), and in this essay, we’ll explore his journey to the heart of Claire Cleary (Rachel McAdams).…

I think by chance Judd Apatow named the movie Funny People, and then make it more as a serious movie, on purpose. I believe this could be showing the difference of the need genre and genre film. When I saw previews of Funny People on TV, the advertising made me believe that it was going to be a comedy. This was the use of genre film. Most people expected it to be a comedy because of the previews, the title, the actors, and the history of Judd Apatow movies. However, after actually seeing the movie, I didnt think it was a comedy so much. With George Simmons health loss and his personal life with his ex lover, him not being a good family man, and him falling off as a comedian, I thought it was more of a serious film with funny parts added to it. All these issues going on in the chief(prenominal) characters life is also reflecting on reality.…

Then, give each captain a broomstick or pole and ask them to stand against a wall, holding the pole between their legs. Give the other team members rolls of toilet paper. The goal of the game is for each team member to cross the room to their team's pole with the roll of toilet paper between their legs (no hands!). The first team with all four rolls on it's captain's pole is the winner and gets a door prize. This game is hilarious, and sure to ensure great pictures!…
