Bravery In The Bible
Numerous difficult and dangerous situations will always appear in life, situations that scare us. Through bravery, we find the tools to overcome and resolve these situations.
Therefore, intense courage helps in resolving problems, and characters in literature often display that. In the work of literature that I recently read, The Bible, the character Jesus faces many difficult and dangerous situations where his display of intense courage and bravery helped him to resolve the problems he faces.
To exemplify, Jesus demonstrated bravery when he firmly faced the judgment of Pontius Pilate and his sentence to crucifixion. Jesus displayed intense courage when he accepted his sentence, even though he knew he was no guilty nor bad because he wanted

The dictionary defines courage as a build up of an emotion or adrenaline , to do something that involves you stepping out of your comfort zone. In the film ‘3:10 to Yuma’ we see numerous pieces of courage shown by numerous different people, even people you wouldn't expect to see it from. There is three perfect examples of this in the film, When Will Evans, Dan Evans son, builds up enough ‘COURAGE’ to save his father from being shot in the head by Ben Wade, by holding a gun to Ben Wade, even though he knows that if he gets a chance, he will disarm and possibly kill him, due to him being much fast than william, but he stepped out of his comfort zone to protect his father Another is when the vet builds up enough ‘COURAGE’…

For example Ty from Street Pharm shows the trait bravery through never showing fear and fighting for his life all for the family business. To start off Ty is brought into the police station because he is accused of being a hustler. “If they bring ya in, don’t sweat it. Stay cool and stick to yo’ story (Van Diepen 153).” This quote reveals that by Ty not showing fear he is not giving the cops any reason to believe he is guilty. If he shows any sign that he is guilty he will be sent to prison. This shows the trait…

Even though people were scared and their lives were in danger they still showed loads of bravery. According to Mayblum, “On the 85th floor a brave associate of mine and I headed back up to our office to drag out my partner who stayed behind.” That showed tons of bravery for going back up a fiery building to save a friend. Another man was seen being brave as he fought a fire with an emergency hose. Mayblums partner also showed bravery by testing an elevator to help a heavyset man make it out of the building. These people were scared but hid the fear and let the bravery inside them be seen on September 11, 2001.…

Nelson Mandela once said “I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, uses characters to display courage many times throughout the novel. It's about a white father defending a black man in the racist town of Macomb, Alabama, in the 1930's. I found a few examples of courage for each character that stood out to me most. Atticus, Scout, and Boo Radley. First, a brave, hardworking, single parent, Atticus Finch. He first shows courage when he shoots a mad dog to protect his family when he hasn't touched a gun in over thirty years. Another character in the story, Miss Maudie, explains “I guess he put down his gun when he reilized god gave him an unfair advantage over most living things...” Another courages thing Atticus does, is standing up for…

Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition” (Steve Jobs) Mr. Jobs advice is applicable to everyday life whether it be confronting a bully, asking out a crush or saving someone from a burning building. A person is courageous when fear is present, yet they still choose to act in spite of it. Frederick Douglass demonstrated courage through his passion to learn, to read, to write. The risk of being caught was tremendous, “it is almost an unpardonable offence to teach slaves to read” (2). Without a risk, “there can be no progress” (Frederick Douglass). Douglass’s goal was to attain his freedom. He wanted to be acknowledged as equal to a white man. He refused to accept anything less than his own spiritual, physical, and intellectual…
