Brave New World The relationships of today’s world are slowly becoming more like the relationships in Aldus Huxley’s book Brave New World. People are becoming more concerned and infatuated with sex, and less concerned with finding the one they will be with forever. In Brave New World, they did not really have “relationships.” People only had people with whom they had sex. Today, people have relationships, but for some, the only reason they do is to have sex with that person.
Already in the 1950s, the percentage of people waiting until after marriage to have sex had dropped to 11%. Today, an average of about 3% of Americans wait until marriage to have sex (Mike). This …show more content…
While today’s world does not consider it “normal” for children to play naked, young teenagers are sent out onto the red carpet in nothing but a skimpy dress that shows nearly everything they have to offer. In Brave New World, the children are expected to play with one another while naked. They do not want the children to think it is weird to see each other and play with each other naked. For children to see each other naked in today’s world is supposedly absurd, yet models are shown on T.V. and in magazines dressed in nearly nothing. If this continues to happen, what will the children of this day and age will want to wear?
The times of today are growing nearer and nearer to the Huxley’s Brave New World. This can be seen in the everyday lives of celebrities, or even some teenagers.
