When colonists began to move west and into Indian territory, they became vulnerable and were not protected. That’s why Parliament issued the Royal Proclamation, which prohibited the colonists to settle west. This angered the colonists because now finally freed from French settlers, they were now being held back by their own country. Britain then also having to pay off debt, began to apply acts, starting with the Sugar Act and the Stamp Act. The colonists started to boycott certain products, such as sugar. The Stamp Act was passed on March 22, 1765 and required the colonists to pay tax on all the printed paper they used. Now the colonists were infuriated with Parliament and Britain because they were piling them on with acts without their consent. The Boston tea party is the most important event leading into the American Revolution because although some violence and destruction had happened already, this event was the one that directly challenged the King. Before the Boston tea party, most of the complaints were just talk. Also, this cost them a lot of money, almost 1 million dollars. They wasted a lot of tea, 342 containers. The reason they wasted so much tea was because they loved tea, and people of the time drank a lot of tea. They decided to tax the tea.Even though the colonists were angry about the tea taxes, they were also upset about the fact that their governor was allowing the boats with taxed tea on it, to dock! This meant that the governor was allowing the taxed tea to be sold and taxed! I believe that this was one of the things that had began to make anger the colonists because it was as if a fellow Bostonian was turning against them and their governor, the one who was making laws, switched to the British side. This also meant that if the governor was siding with the British, he might allow more taxed items into the colonies. These ideas are what made the Sons of liberty hold a secret meeting in Boston, where they decided to protest and show the their governor that they would not allow the British to tax the tea. They wanted to show that they would not let the British, and their governor, control them in a way that they knew was…

In this unit, I had learned about various acts, enlightenment thinkers, the Boston Tea Party, etc. For this project, we had to create a pamphlet about independence. I talked about the Intolerable Acts, a series of acts created as an outcome of the Boston Tea Party which included The Quebec Act, The Massachusetts Government Act and The Quartering Act of 1774. These acts had negatively impacted the colonists as it took away the land which many of them had desired, political rights, individual rights and stature of nature, and it took away the colonists’ natural rights. These acts are some of the main reasons as to why the need for independence was high, as none of them resulted in a positive outcome (9g. The Intolerable Acts").…

riters. The reason for this is because writers usually think of new interesting articles that will leave something to readers and will make an impression for them in order to become historical figures. I also feel they decided to become writers because of their upbringing and their beliefs which were implicit in their judgments. The main key to becoming individuals is to look at ourselves honestly and objectively (Vincent Ryan Ruggiero 2009). This takes courage because it often involves abandoning wishful thinking and destroying cherished illusions about ourselves (Vincent Ryan Ruggiero 2009). So with this in mind I think they did this when they decided to become writers during their time.…
