The book The Hunger Games is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen and a game where you have to fight to the death and only one person survives. The setting starts out at Katniss Everdeen's house with her mother and little sister. It is the day of the Reaping, the day of the reaping is the day where people from every district of Panem picks one boy and one girl to play the Hunger Games. Katniss’s little sister Prim is now old enough to be pulled from the jar of names to get picked to play in the Hunger Games that everyone hates.

Katniss and her family arrive at the place of the reaping and Katniss and Prim get separated. Katniss is scared because the reaping is about to start and she can’t find Prim then the reaping starts… Prim’s name gets pulled out of the jar someone special volunteers for Prim, Onto the boys, a boy gets pulled out of the jar and his name is Peeta Milark. Katniss has met Peeta Milark before, Peeta’s mom owned the bakery and their district barely had any food.
I loves almost everything about it! I loved the characters, what it’s about, What happens just everything! The only thing that I didn't like about it though was that people highly underestimated Katniss, Katniss is very determined and will do anything to survive. I also love how Katniss is sort of a mother to her younger sister and her mom, Katniss’s dad died in a terrible explosion, her dad was a miner. Katniss get Prim ready in the morning and takes care of her like a mother should, cause their mother
