Book Summary: The Griever

The book starts off when Thomas arrives to the Glade in the Box. When Thomas gets out of the Box he can’t remember anything, he can’t remember his family, friends, age, or even his last name. Alby ,which is the leaders of the Gladers, shows him around the Glade and answers few of Thomas' many questions. Him and Chuck, Glader that be friends Thomas, talk for awhile before going to sleep. The next day Alby and Minho (runner) go into the maze to find a dead Griever, only to find out that it was not dead. The Griever that they believed to be dead was very much alive and attacked Alby. Minho then has to drag Alby to the Doors to get the cure. They don’t make it to the Doors in time and Thomas steps into the maze just in time to get trapped inside with Alby and Minho. They stay in the maze overnight and run from Grievers. When they return in the morning. They have a gathering to discuss what happened and how they should punish Thomas for disobeying the rules. The Keepers decide his punishment to be one day in the “slammer”. When he wakes up the following morning he hears Teresa speak to him in his mind. Although he can not seem to talk back to her, he listens to what she says. After eating breakfast, he goes to the Slammer to serve his day as punishment. During lunch time Chuck brings him something to eat while talking to him. During this conversation Thomas makes a promise to Chuck. He promised that he would get Chuck home to his family. Once Thomas' day of punishment is over he goes on a run into the Maze with Minho. Minho teaches him the ways of the Runners. While so much is going on Thomas finds that their sun has disappeared. On top of that, the Doors neglected to close that night and Teresa awakes from her "coma". The Gladers stay mostly in the Homestead overnight while Grievers enter the
