“Childhood Interrupted” based on a true life story of its author herself Kathleen O’ Malley was about the dark life under the hands of a nuns in an orphanage. She was then living in a peace simple life with her mom and sister Sarah Louise until she reached her age of six when the nuns have legally abducted them. It was because when you don’t have a father to support your mother, you’ll be put in an industrial school run by the Sisters of Mercy. They are seized from the confines of their home and forced to work at their young age. They were maltreated by the people of Christ they never thought about. She’s not allowed to talk to each other even to her sister Sarah Louise. They were treated like a slave, don’t eat much and their hands get beaten if they done something wrong. Good afternoon adjudicator, to the audience and to my fellow team mates, I am Kenneth Leonor, 1st speaker from the affirmative house. The topic for our debate is about Social Networking site being good or bad in the society. Definition:
We define the topic which is Social networking as a platform to build social networks or social relations among people who share interests, activities, backgrounds or real-life connections. Team line:
We the affirmative house believes that a social networking site is upright in our society. We’re going to prove that this statement is true (Team line) “SOCIAL NETWORKING OFFERS PLENTY OF OPPURTUNITIES FOR LEARNING AND INTERACTIVITY IN OUR SOCIETY.” Team split:
Today, as the first speaker, I will be talking about the current condition of social networking sites in the Philippines and to the rest of the world. How this affect the status quo of communication and its benefits and progress. Our second speaker will be talking about: ________________________________________________ Our third speaker will rebut and sum up our team case.
Burden of proof:
As what I’ve said earlier, I will be talking about the current condition of social networking sites. My first point is that, In Philippines, Social networking is one of the most active web-based activities in the Philippines, with Filipinos being declared as the most active users on a number of web-based social network sites such as Facebook, and Twitter. Social networking sites have become so extensive in the Philippines that it is even tagged as the Social Networking Capital. This is because Filipino’s have this culture of loving to talk or interaction with other people. In a short term, Filipinos are incredibly friendly. This made the great extent of social media giving the Filipino citizen’s to communicate free to other people all over the country or even their friends and relatives outside the country. While the popularity of social networking consistently rises in many other parts of the world, new uses of technology is being observed. Social networking sites has been use to develop interactive communities that connect individuals based on shared business needs or experiences. Companies and schools use social media as a tool for easy way of teaching and advertising their brand image. So in conclusion, Social networking sites really offers a plenty of things in learning and interactivity in our society. The thing is it help people connect and communicate efficiently. Thankyou.
Good afternoon to the adjudicators, to the audience and to my fellow team mates, I, Kenneth Leonor, 1st speaker from the house of negative. . The topic for our debate is about Social Networking site being good or bad in the society. Definition:
(Only when the planned definition is same as their definition) We agree to the definition of the affirmative where it is being define as a site that provides information of a group of individuals or organization. But, this information they provide is also a tool to steal someone’s identity and can expose to cyber majority issues. (If it’s not the same with the planned definition)
We disagree because : _____________________________________
With this, We the House of negative believes that this statement is true (Team line)
Social networking increases the risk of people being able to expose to cyber transgression. Team Split:
Today, as the first speaker, I will be talking about the current condition of social networking sites in the Philippines and to the rest of the world. How this affect the status quo of communication and its negatives. Our second speaker will be talking about: ________________________________________________ Our third speaker will rebut and sum up our team case.
Rebuttal & Arguing:
The first speaker of the affirmative has tried to tell you that ______________________. This is wrong because _________________. We believe that : Social media being able of sharing opens up the possibility for hackers to commit fraud and launch spam and virus attacks. Second, This ncreases the risk of people falling prey to online scams that seem genuine, resulting in data or identity theft. (When they mention about company)
Social media potentially results in negative comments from employees about the company or potential legal consequences if employees use these sites to view objectionable, illicit or offensive material. Potentially results in lost productivity, especially if employees are busy updating profiles, etc. The speaker also said that _______________________________. This is wrong because _________________.
