Did you know that 80% of women say that the images if women in television and in movies, fashion magazines, and advertising makes them feel insecure? Body Images is a growing problem among our society today. Some people believe that Body Image is something that come purely from the mind. they day its not influenced by media. Others believe that Body Image is something that can be influenced easily by media and magazines. They say society is influenced by the pressure to be skinny. I believe that media has a negative affect on body image. Media does things like show advertisements, that says "Skinny is beautiful", they encourage eating disorders because fashion models have eating disorders to become skinny, and the media can also influence females views using popular television series and movies. Body Paragraph 1

Media can influence things like "Skinny is beautiful" or " Skinny is perfect" through the use of advertisement such as commercials and magazines. I believe this to be true because when you are watching a commercial on T.V., or looking at an Ad in a magazine , all you see are extremely skinny models. Like Kaitlyn Dewell says," we see things like top 100 most beautiful people in peoples magazines and we wonder are those ideals of beauty going far?" (Dewell 1). This is a magazine that a lot of people read in their everyday lives.This can influence us by insinuating that this is we are supposed to look like. This can greatly influence how we perceive ourselves. Body Paragraph 2

Media can encourage eating disorders. The media can make jokes about overweight people of eating disorders because they think its funny, but it can influence people. "Demi Lovato attacked the Disney Channel on Twitter last week for making eating disorders and using increasingly smaller stars in their shows that cater to teens."
