Bob Marley's Song 'Between The Ear Buds'
In Between the Ear buds It can hit us in many ways, “but when it hits, you feel no pain.” This thought by Bob Marley represents the power and potential of enlightenment that music contains. It can makes the good times better and hard times easier. So, I believe that wat goes on in between any two ear buds is only for the listener to keep. It all started in the hallway at Freedom High School recently when I was thinking about what I believed in the most, and what really motivated me in life. Then, all of the sudden I heard a group of people singing a popular song all together. And as they passed by all I managed to do was smile because there was just something that gave me a burst of happiness. I can’t quite remember what the song was, but then I realized that it wasn’t the song that made me happy, it was the fact that the group of three decided to just erupt out singing in front of everybody. It is things like those in life that make someone’s day …show more content…
Whether it’s modern day rap, 90’s hip-hop, 80’s rock, or 70’s soul music, each era has a few good songs with one thing in common; meaningful lyrics. Most people can fathom a good beat when they hear one, but for me, the lyrics contain the most efficacy. The lyrics are the best part of a song because the lyrics are the part of the song that everyone sings along to, and the part that everybody replays in their head a million times a day. And although nobody realizes it, a melody is just as great as the lyrics because the two support each other to make up a masterpiece of art. For me, a great song with inspiring lyrics and a good beat triggers an explosion of dopamine throughout my body, and that feeling gives me a boost of confidence with so much more that is indescribable. So if you are listening to a song and you hear a verse or a line that makes you stop and think in depth about the true meaning, the artist has done their

It takes an open mindset, heart, & soul to deal with the curve balls that life throws . Today, I don’t mind letting my pain spearhead my passion. Now I don’t mind singing from my pain, or dancing from where it hurts. In the midst of it all, I found pieces of myself that I acquired from hardship. “Who am I?”, I honestly don't know, but over the past few years, who I've become, a strong young lady who still desires to know more of herself one step at a time. Who I am & who I acquire to be is yet to…

Music has played a major role throughout the evolution of human kind. It has been around since the days of cavemen who discovered the effects of banging rocks and sticks in a rhythm. Through the years music has been used as a medium for expression of thoughts, feelings, and ideas. The lyrics of the song are usually the easiest and least complex way of expressing these feelings. There are more subtle ways that are often overlooked though. These are the tone of voice, tempo of the music, the instruments used, hidden meanings or metaphors, and the overall way the song sounds. A good example of this is the song Kiss My Irish Ass by Frank Mackey and the Keltic Cowboys.…

Political manifesto music is more than just music with a political message and content. Political manifesto music is more so music or artist that consistently and deliberately deliver music with the same political message. Bob Marley and Richard Wagner are political manifesto artist because they wrote and composed music with generally the same political message. Both artist had political viewpoints, and they made it known throughout their music. . Despite the attack and much deliberation, Marley still played at the show. The motivation behind the attack was never uncovered, and Marley fled the country after the concert. Living in London, England, Marley worked on Exodus, which was released in 1977. The title track draws an analogy between the biblical story of Moses and the Israelites leaving exile and his own situation. The song discusses returning to Africa. The concept of Africans and descendents of Africans repatriating their homeland can be linked to the work of Marcus Garvey. Released as a single, “Exodus” was a hit in Britain, as were “Waiting in Vain” and “Jamming,” and the entire album stayed on the U.K. charts for more than a year. Today, Exodus is considered to be one of the best albums ever made. Marley had a health scare in 1977. He sought treatment on a toe he had injured earlier…

I would not say that this music holds much value to me, however I do value the meaning of the song lyrics. More specifically, I like the phrase “let the good times roll”. There are two things that defines value for me in music. The first thing that I value in music is how it can make you feel since music can make you feel a wide array of emotions. For example, whenever you are feeling upset and you listen to one of your favorite songs it can lift your mood and make you feel a lot better. The second thing that defines value for me in music is when you can relate to it. Typically, song lyrics stem from the personal thoughts or feelings by the person who wrote the lyrics. Song lyrics can always be interpreted in more ways than one by many different…

Music has always been a part of us ever since the begging of time. It’s been with us threw the happy, great times and also for the not so happy bad times. We can express ourselves with music by telling a story with in the lyrics and even with the beat showing, telling how we are feeling. It can be a cheerful, carefree, joyful beat, to gloomy, mournful, blue beat, but not everyone has the same taste in music. Music it’s self is unbelievably stunning and so breathtaking.…

As I get older, I grow and learn new things each year and as time goes on I realize that there’s not always going to be times of immeasurable joy and laughter. It’d be nice if there was but that’s not how life is. Happiness that’s present in my life is because of God and how straightforward his word is. As a christian, I know that once I’m saved, there is absolutely no one that can take that away from me. Even when I’m going through the storm, the sure promises of God carry me through. You may ask yourself, “ Why would I want to rejoice over anything when I’m going through the worst of times?” Well, when you take time to realize what’s around you, you come to find that you are truly blessed. Everyone that is in my school and church all have supportive families and christian families. None of us have to deal with communism and we’re free to pick our religion. Nevertheless, some of still choose to complain and be discontent with what we have. Everyone of us needs to take a step back and look at the blessings we have in our lives and cherish the things that make us happy. That’s something that is at the core of my…

I was listening to Party in the U.S.A by Miley Cyrus, a weird and strong effort to look at the bright side of this new life; it worked because the song always makes me want to dance and that day wasn’t an exception. I remember coming out of the plane and thinking “God, it smells so good. It smells like someone just cleaned everything.” Then I saw a cleaning lady and I knew I was right. When we walked out of the airport, I noticed it was a cloudy day but it was really hot, it’s one of those moments where you don’t know if you should take your jacket off or not. My cousin picked us up and her excitement was contagious, for the first time in that day, I smiled. She took us to Fuddruckers, we ate and talked a lot, it brought many memories from when my mom, my sister, and I used to come to Miami to visit and we would eat there sometimes. I liked it there because of all the photos of artist that I like, so that cheered me up too. That night, at my uncle’s house, before going to sleep my mom said “Thank you God, because we’re okay.” And I took her hand and said “Amen.” While she was sleeping, I prayed all night until I fell asleep. I prayed for my sister, I prayed for my mom, I prayed for my dad, I prayed for my friends, and I prayed that my life here was good. God only knows how much I prayed for my life to be good…

I can still recall the first hip hop album I listened to. It was Reasonable Doubt by Jay Z. I remember how I instantly fell in love with the lyrics. I hadn’t heard anything like it before, primarily because I only listened to R&B and some watered down rap music. The lyrics were hard hitting. They meant something. I could his hunger through the speakers as he rapped his song entitled “Can I Live” which said “Well we hustle out of a sense of, hopelessness/Sort of a desperation/Through that desperation, we 'come addicted/Sorta like the fiends we accustomed to servin” (3-6). I also remember how my older brother looked at me like I was an idiot because I was listening to an album that had come out in 1996, in 2001. He didn’t quite understand the difference between rap and hip hop music; but I saw the difference right away. Hip hop means something. Rap is just a good beat to dance to.…

It sometimes feels like I’m in a movie and about to discover something important to the storyline, and it really helps me work faster and more efficiently. It motivates me to keep working when I want to take a break or take a nap. Most of the time, I am not very motivated to work or study, so when I listen to music, I feel more motivated than when I listen to more classical music. With a more upbeat tempo, I tend to work faster, and concentrate more so I can be as efficient as possible. Music with lyrics is distracting when you are trying to study. It takes attention away from the work you are supposed to be doing. Whenever I am listening to music with lyrics, I get confused about the words and letters fumbling around in my head. I get my ideas and the lyrics all mixed up, and I sometimes end up writing down the lyrics instead of doing work. This makes everything confusing, because then I forget the ideas I was thinking at the time. I also make a lot more grammatical and spelling mistakes. Then it takes longer to complete the work, because I have to go back and fix them. Music with lyrics also distract from studying. Lyrics also work against you when you are trying to learn things or remember…
