Bob Fosse was born in Chicago, Illinois, United States on September 23, 1987. Fosse began his unusual career as a dancer in the late 1940s, touring with companies of Call Me Mister and Make Mine Manhattan. After playing the lead in a summer-stock production of Pal Joey, then choreographing a showcase called Talent 52, Fosse was given a screen test by M-G-M and went on to appear in the film Kiss Me Kate. This appearance, in a highly original dance number, led to Fosse's first job as a choreographer, the Jerome Robbins-directed Broadway hit The Pajama Game. Soon after, he met the talented dancer Gwen Verdon, and the two proceeded to collaborate on several hit shows, including Damn Yankees, New Girl in Town , and Redhead. He was also frequently sought out as the "doctor" on shows in trouble, especially How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and Little Me.…

Today, s I was resting on my patio, I decided to write about out president, Abraham Lincoln. I don’t know why I decided to do this. It could be because of the fact that he has just been elected in the election of 1860 as the sixteenth president of the United States. The northerners of our country have joined the republicans. Many rumors about the upcoming war have been spreading around. Recently, I have been very busy with my work on the farm, and now finally have some free time. While reading the newspaper I see that many articles have been printed about President Lincoln’s doings as president. Apparently, Lincoln has argued that his main purpose for this upcoming war is to save the union. At the beginning of this so called war Lincoln has called for seventy five thousand soldiers because of the recent attack on Fort Sumter, to Washington DC for protection against a possible confederate attack. I expect that president Lincoln is and will do his best to protect his people and his soldiers. He has had past leadership roles and he has been a successful lawyer and former state legislator in 1858. Although Lincoln has only limited military experience, I think that he will prevail. My friends think the same. They say that president Lincoln us finally going to put an end to slavery. However much I support this idea, I can’t help thinking that this change will not come about without quite a lot of sacrifices. Some people in the town ate saying that this war will not last more than one month or less. Due to discrepancy between the people and the president, Lincoln is receiving criticism from people who disagreed with his policies. In my opinion, these people are blinded by greed. The only reason they want this war is to earn more money. Well now that I have expressed my feelings about this whole incident, I think that it is time for me to relax and just hope for the best.…

William Jefferson Blythe was born on August 19, 1946 in Hope, Arkansas, to Virginia Blythe and named after his father, who had recently died in an auto accident. He took his stepfather’s last name Clinton, after the birth of a stepbrother. After high school Bill went to Georgetown University, University of Oxford, and Yale University Law School where he met his future wife Hillary Rodham. Clinton then became a law professor at the University of Arkansas. In 1976 he was elected state attorney general; while serving in that office he was elected as the youngest governor in Arkansas history at age 32. He then came to obtain four more terms as governor gaining a reputation as a moderate, realistic ‘New Democrat.’ In October 1991, Clinton announced that he was a candidate for the democratic nomination for president of the United States. He beat George Bush in the race for presidency and took office in January 1993. Clinton appeared confident to restore the Democrats to national dominance however it can be said that it was a false confidence due to his eventual disapproval from the country.…

Being the President of the United States is not an easy job. Not to mention there is always a chance that the whole country could end up hating you. In March, 1830, the family again migrated, this time to Macon County, Illinois. When his father moved the family again to Coles County, 22-year-old Abraham Lincoln struck out on this own, making a living in manual labor. At six feet four inches tall, Lincoln was rawboned and lanky, but muscular and physically strong. He spoke with a backwoods twang and walked with a long-striding gait. He was known for his skill in wielding an ax and early on made a living splitting wood for fire and rail fencing. Young Lincoln eventually migrated to the small community of New Salem, Illinois where over a period of years he worked as a shopkeeper, postmaster, and eventually general store owner. It was here that Lincoln, working with the public, acquired social skills and honed story-telling talent that made him popular with the locals. After the Black Hawk War, Abraham Lincoln began his political career and was elected to the Illinois state legislature in 1834 as a member of the Whig Party. He supported the Whig politics of government-sponsored infrastructure and protective tariffs. This political understanding led him to formulate his early views on slavery, not so much as a moral wrong,…

Washington, DC, April 14, 1865, 10:45 p.m., the President of the United States was shot with a Philadelphia Deringer pistol at Ford’s Theatre while attending the play Our American Cousin. He was carried across the street where he died early the next morning. The assassin, John Wilkes Booth, made his escape by horse and rode to the house of Doctor Mudd, a resident of Maryland who repaired his leg. The next day Booth was found hiding in a barn and was killed, shot by a Union soldier through a crack in the barn wall. Within a week, news of Abraham Lincoln’s assassination spread throughout the country. In some parts of the country the reaction was one of shock and sorrow, however, in some southern states there was private and public celebration for various reasons. The fact that he was the head of the Union, supported the restriction of slavery, alone with his other political views, found John Wilkes Booth a hero in many households.…
