Boarder Lands
Special Weapon Effects
Ceci n'est pas une sniper rifle! – It fires slow moving projectiles shaped like arrows. Always incendiary. Always spawns without a scope. Even though it is an E-tech weapon, it only consumes one sniper bullet per shot.
Usage & Description
When auto-targeting is turned on in the options menu, the snap-to targeting places the arc of the Longbow's projectile immediately through a standard humanoid enemy's head. The key is to not correct an aim for the head as normal, but to fire center mass, which is where snap-to targeting places the reticle upon aiming down the sights.
Trivia
According to the Longbow's barrel part, SR_Barrel_Alien_Longbow, and the fins that expand when firing, the Longbow is an E-tech weapon despite the item card's Legendary coloration.
The Longbow's projectiles are shaped like the arrows from the video game Minecraft.
The flavor text ("Ceci n'est pas une sniper rifle!" [Lit. "This is not a Sniper Rifle"]) is a reference to Magritte's The Treachery of Images, a painting of a pipe with the words "Ceci n'est pas une pipe." written underneath in cursive lettering. The point of this painting was to demonstrate that it was not, in fact, a pipe but a painting of one. A similar reference was made in Minecraft. The game's menu splash text, "Ceci n'est pas une title screen!" translates to "This is not a title screen!".
Like Hyperion pistols and all E-tech weapons, the Longbow features fins on the side of the gun that extend outward as the gun fires. When fully extended these fins resemble the arc of a bow or crossbow due to their placement and unusual size.
Oddly enough, when fired, the Longbow does not make the usual E-tech sniper rifle firing sound, but the normal sniper rifle

    Richard Gatling Essay

The gun was a hand-crank-operated weapon with six barrels revolving around a central shaft. Having a gun that revolves was very difficult because the barrels would not always line up correctly when being fired. The original gun was actually designed to fire the standard military issue paper cartridge of the day, .58 caliber. A .58 caliber bullet has a diameter of an inch and is capable of damaging anything it hits. The paper cartridge was placed inside a steel or brass chamber with a percussion nipple on the back end just like the muzzle loading rifles and pistols of there time. The cartridges were fed to the gun by gravity through a hopper mounted towards the top of the gun. As the six cam operated bolts alternately fired, and dropped the bullets, which were contained in steel chambers, it made quite an impression on their enemies. Gatling also used the six barrels to partially cool…

An arrow is a shaft with feather-type vanes near one end, which is notched, and a pointed head on the other end. The notched end of the arrow is mounted against the bowstring, with the pointed head extending just beyond the bow. With one hand braced against the bow and the other gripping the string, an archer pulls back on the string, storing potential energy in the bow. When the archer releases the string, that potential energy is converted to kinetic energy, which is imparted to the arrow, propelling it forward suddenly and swiftly. Bows are used primarily for hunting and for target…

The longbow was a great contributor to the English success in the battle of Agincourt. This enabled the archers to " rain approximately 10 arrows per minute per man down upon the enemy" (Henry V). The English army had "6000 soldiers and out of that 5000 soldiers were longbow men" (http://www.longbow-archers.com). This allowed for greater impact before and during hand to hand combat. The longbow was such an important part of the…

The shot, when fired, speeds through the shotgun barrel at speeds of around 1280 feet per second, and when it leaves the barrel, it starts to spread out. This causes effectiveness for…
