In my opinion, the BMW films where a great idea at that specific moment in time. The company had no new product launches to promote. Furthermore, budget was available in order to “experiment” new ideas and innovative advertising and promotion actions. With this pure branding exercise BMW had little to lose (mainly money) and a huge deal to win.…

BMW’s motivation behind the idea of producing the films was one to simply communicate, and focus on “what makes a BMW a BMW”. In fact, there was no product launch to advertise and BMW was able to use this time to shift its strategy from ‘push’ to ‘pull’. The goal of this advertisement was to “produce the most exciting, fun thing people had ever seen come out of their computer”. In terms of numbers, this campaign was used to maintain growth and sales, which had been growing excessively since 1992: from 60 000 units sold to 180 000 units (exhibit 1). In terms of target, BMW wanted to attract younger generations while still keeping its current target audience. This would enable the brand to increase the already high brand loyalty (44.7%, Exhibit 8a), by getting customers from a younger age, and therefore following them throughout their lives. In terms of image, the goals of this campaign were to strengthen the company’s brand image in luxury segment, and differentiate it from other competitors.…

The outlook obtained from the evaluation is used to create a strategic market plan for the BMW 3 Series. The analysis was divided into two parts: External and internal. The external analysis started with outlining the macro environment which was described using the SLEPT analysis. After the external analysis was finished off, the internal environment was analyzed, this was analyzed according to the C3SPM Model (company, customers, competitors, suppliers, middleman) of the micro environment. The underlying idea behind performing a strategic analysis was to obtain quantified factors, which could help BMW increase the sales of the 3 series and market growth.…

    My Favorite Car

On March 20th 2013, I woke up and directly drove to the Leith Honda dealership to fix my car. While it was being fixed, I noticed an Infiniti dealership. I walked there to browse some cars, just to kill time. As soon as set foot onto the dealership I found the most breath – taking and luxurious sports car. I took a peek inside the window and was astounded. Sometimes they say you can fall in love at first sight, here I found my first love the Infiniti G37 IPL. According to Twitchell objects that you own forms your identity. Meanwhile, Rosenbaum denies objects identifying who you really are. What do you think; do objects really have that kind of power to reflect people’s images? For me, the Infiniti G37 IPL is the perfect fit for my identity. The Infiniti Performance Line represents the pinnacle of the Infiniti innovation and craftsmanship. Luxury and performance are amplified the IPL G Coupe: the exclusive IPL – tuned engine and suspension augment the driving experience while aggressive styling and aerodynamics visually express the elemental strength contained within. The Infiniti G37 IPL defines my character based on its luxurious style, performance, strength, technology, safety and rejuvenating features.…
