At least it let the world know what happened is Africa at that time. How bad a place it was. How people suffer in that situation. It informed people what’s guilty and evil, what’s justice and goodness. A selfish smuggler still has love and righteous. A cold blood killer was once an innocent child and also has kind heart deep inside him. Those are all good stories we learned. Solomon Vandy had lost his family, and almost everything he had. That’s why he loves his family so much. When people have lost things they had, they become realize the importance of those things had. What do they mean to their lives, especially their families. Because they understand without families they don’t have anything. Also in this movie, it’s true the people who buy diamonds create the demand for this business, but who should be blamed are only those who seek the diamonds illegally. Otherwise we should blame every rich man. Why? Because somebody makes money, there must be someone who loses money. Do we want to blame the people who made others poor? Then there should be no rich people.

I’m agree with no one can be absolutely clean if he is living in a dirty environment, or “hell”. Otherwise he won’t survive. A person must first survive, and then he can do other things, good things. And fulfill his goals and dreams. As long as he is always willing to change once he got chance. To get better, and have the faith for right and wrong in his deep heart, he is still good. Big associations like U.N., its effort is limited. Full peace and social justice is really hard to achieve. Without U.N., it will be much worse. We should look at the good examples like refugee camps in the movie. They do make difference. And also in regards to children the U.N. should making a much bigger difference.
