When you think of the Cincinnati Bengals you probably think of all the arrests, busts, and bad managing that have taken place in the 90's. I'm telling you the Bengals are on the rise and have changed the ways of their troubled past back to the winning ways of the 80’s. The 1990's and early 2000's were compiled with poor drafts and miss judgment of character in the players they chose, but the past few years the Bengals have proven draft after draft they are stepping up their drafting game. The Bengals faced heavy criticism for filling the locker room with troubled young players. The Bengals were the centerpiece for jokes about players getting arrested and in trouble. For example Chris Henry the wide receiver that they drafted in the 3rd round, knowing that he had a troubled past that even led up to his college days at West Virginia. They unfortunately carried over to the NFL and he got into many bad situations with drug abuse and other situations. Henry did begin to finally turn his life around but sadly his life was cut short in an accident when he fell out of the bed of a moving truck. Henry was only 26. Since then the Bengals have really done a good job in the draft getting good players that have a clean background. Although the Bengals still have taken chances on players that are questionable Marvin Lewis has taken them under his wing and has mentored them and had really helped them turn their lives around, in example Adam Jones and Vontez Burfict. In doing so they spend very low round draft picks on them. Burfict is a perfect example of this. The Start of this kid’s senior season he was a lock for the first round. Burfict did not take the game seriously though. In essence he selfdestructed. Getting into trouble with the law, and in games he got called for many unnecessary roughness calls and cost his team plays and yards. By the time the draft rolled around his draft stock had…

The owners capitalized and amortized 50% of the purchase price over six years because that is the maximum percentage allowed by the Internal Revenue Code. I would argue that the value of the player roster is somewhat subjective. The players argument, however, is that with experience comes greater value. That is an argument that can be debated.…

As the Buffalo Wild Wings website famously states, “It all started with two guys driven by hunger ("Buffalo Wild Wings").” In the year of 1981 two men by the names of Jim Disbrow and Scott Lowery made the move to the state of Ohio after previously residing in Buffalo, New York. After yearning for the famous buffalo wings they would normally find back home, these two gentlemen had no choice but to open a restaurant and share the delicious delight of Buffalo style chicken-wings they had only encountered on numerous occasions in their hometown. Their initial craving for a food that was no longer in reach was the beginning of a chain of restaurants that served a style of wings that cannot be mimicked. Still to this day, The Buffalo Wild Wings experience is a one-of-a kind encounter that keeps its customers coming back. The fun filled atmosphere in which they provide is enough to make their competitors wish they knew their secret. Buffalo Wild Wings is far more than just a restaurant that serves wings, but its array of menu items and bar full of drinks provides its customers with a casual way to spend their down time. The product, special deals that are offered, and the Buffalo Wild Wing name alone is one that isn’t easily compared. This is the exact reason this particular restaurant is one of the top-ten fastest growing restaurant chains in the country. (“Buffalo Wild Wings”)…

    St. Louis Blues

For my listening assignment, I chose the piece, “St. Louis Blues” by Bessie Smith and Louis Armstrong, recorded in the late 1920s. At this time, the country was in the transition from country blues (a single artist accompanied by a single guitar) to city blues (a single artist accompanied by either a piano and/or several instruments). In city blues, the form was based on a very rigid 12-bar blues structure, which used mainly the I, IV, and V7 chords in similar progressions each time through. Lyrics were typically sophisticated, dwelling on themes of love, and typically sung by women in a refined manner.…

Like birds of prey, New York insomniacs hover over the night like hawks scouting for a comfy haven or some tasty morsel. The departures of Núñez and van Gaal were hardly noticed by the fans when compared to that of Luís Figo, then club vice-captain. Figo had become a cult hero, and was considered by Catalans to be one of their own. However, Barcelona fans were distraught by Figo's decision to join arch-rivals Real Madrid, and, during subsequent visits to the Camp Nou, Figo was given an extremely hostile reception. Upon his first return, a piglet's head and a full bottle of whiskey were thrown at him from the crowd.[51] The next three years saw the club in decline, and managers came and went. van Gaal was replaced by Llorenç Serra Ferrer who, despite an extensive investment in players in the summer of 2000, presided over a mediocre league campaign and a humiliating first-round Champions League exit, and was eventually dismissed late in the season. Long-serving coach Carles Rexach was appointed as his replacement, initially on a temporary basis, and managed to at least steer the club to the last Champions League spot on the final day of the season. Despite better form in La Liga and a good run to the semi-finals of the Champions League, Rexach was never viewed as a long-term solution and that summer Louis van Gaal returned to the club for a second spell as manager. What followed, despite another decent Champions League performance, was one of the worst La Liga campaigns in the club's history, with the team as low as 15th in February 2003. This led to van Gaal's resignation and replacement for the rest of the campaign by Radomir Antić, though a sixth place finish was the best that he could manage. At the end of the season, Antić's short-term contract was not renewed, and club president Joan Gaspart resigned, his position having been made completely untenable by such a disastrous season on top of the club's overall decline in fortunes since he became president three years prior.[52]…

With the studies in this semester, I have known that it is better to make a self-evaluation before make a plan for my future, and I will divide my self-evaluation into three parts as followed,…
