Upon viewing The Responsibility Website, the short film Birds Barbershop was the film that highlighted organizational plans. Birds Barbershop addresses many organizational decisions that have assisted with where they are with their business. In the following paragraphs will be breakdown of the organizational factors such as business strategy, size, and employee hiring plan.
Business Plan
Jason Rapaport and Michael Portman are both co-founders to Birds Barbershop in Austin, Texas, with five locations. Developing a productive business plan is crucial and addressing organizational issues so that the business is functional is a key element. Birds Barbershop business strategy is simple and manageable to the customer. They provide the things in a salon experience, but with very affordable pricing and old school charm. Birds Barbershop keeps the atmosphere creative, quirky, and enjoyable allowing the customers to return with positive reviews. Within the decision of the making of the enjoyable atmosphere Birds Barbershop takes the customers into consideration and wishes to remain a genuine environment. There are so many external pressures that may arise within a small businesslike Birds Barbershop such as raising the prices because of great reviews, also many people not liking the style of service, and the need to expand.
Size
The determination of the size of a business is by revenue and growth within the business. The thought of franchising did come to consideration for Jayson Rapaport and Michael Portman but came to the realization that the soul of the company was fading. Michael and Jason both felt like the genuine feel of the idea behind Birds Barbershop would deplete. Also, within the decision not to franchise the co-founders also took the opinions of the staff into consideration because the excitement of the whole idea was starting to fade into the distance. Birds Barbershop continues to grow in a closer range and chooses to remain genuine
