I can still vividly recall the eleven-year-old me fawning over the likes of Lawrence Krauss and Neil Degrasse Tyson. I was completely immersed in everything and anything pertaining to the vast universe beyond our seemingly insignificant world. I thought I had it all figured out. I would devote my life to being an astrophysicist and eventually earn my PhD. I would relish in the pink lettering on my wall that said “Dr. Mia”, but as I approach my late teens, my mind has been bombarded with what-ifs and buts. Irrespective of my change of heart, I still have an intense passion for math and science since it is how we explain the world around us, and that is why I have settled on biomedical engineering.…

When I officially joined OSU as a freshman, I joined the small biomedical science major and biological sciences group. In these groups, I have not only helped my peers with their academics, but I have given them guidance on how to simultaneously manage both their academics and fitness pursuits.…

Nursing informatics has evolved over the last half decade from a system with only a few abilities to a worldwide technological system used in many hospital settings and physician offices in order to unify healthcare, eliminate error, and allow clinicians to spend less time charting and more time fulfilling job duties.…

This is a synthesis of the information from this week’s ASU Online Orientation, including responses to exercises completed throughout the week (i.e. discussion posts, blogs, and assessments). The following is a plan of action for ensuring adequate balance between work, school and life in an effort to achieve success at ASU. To begin, balancing work is the least challenging aspect of this plan for this student. To clarify, I’m not beholden to an employer, rather, I own my business therefore I’m in control of my work schedule and have the autonomy to adjust as needed in order to meet goals in all three areas. The goals for success in my work life are to continue meeting or exceeding the expectations of my client while generating an income…
