Food Web

My food web consists many things that the web can be endless. To make things short I will I will explain a part of it. The mayfly is eaten by the trout, salamander, and frog. The dragon fly is eaten by the trout, frog, and salamander. The frog is then eaten by the snake. The salamander is eaten by the snake and bald eagle. Then the trout is then eaten by the bald eagle and me. The picture below is a visual of everything I just went over at the top.

Niche A niche is a specific area where an organism inhabits. Making my niche the place that I live and occupy. My niche is my house. It is a single story home with four bedrooms and with two and a half bathrooms. With a small yard and pool as the outside of my house. My role in my niche is to keep my area of it clean and in order so everything is in its place. Everyone that also lives in the same niche as me also does what they need to do to keep our place clean. The picture below is an example of a similar house that I live in.

Biome A biome is a geographical area that is very large in size. Each biome as a certain group of animals and plants that come with it. Examples of biomes are the tundra, desert, grassland, and wetlands just to name a few. The biome that I live in is the chaparral biome. It is very much like a desert except it receives more rainfall a year. Most of the plants in my biome are low lying plants that can retain water in their leaves.
The picture below is an example of a chaparral biome.

An ecosystem is a community of living organisms joined with the non-living components of their environment interacting as a system. Mangroves, Rocky Shores and Sand Dunes may be seen as three independent parts of the ecosystem but if one is disturbed then it affects the other parts of the cycle. There are many examples of ecosystems such as a pond, forest, an estuary, grassland and many more. Hastings Point is an estuary that is continuously threatened by development.…

A food web is a type of graph that depicts the relationship between the prey and the predators, also known as a system of food chains and how one another are related. This can be better explained as a connection in a community. Food webs are important because it is a direct illustration of the relationships among certain species within a certain community. Right away the graph will reveal the type of species, what they interact with, the structure in which the environment they are located, and show the relations between each species.…

When you are explaining an ecosystem you have producers, consumers, and decomposers. Producers are the plants and the tress in the ecosystem that provide the energy to the ecosystem. As for the desert the producers are cactus and grass. The consumers of the ecosystem are in three different kinds, they are herbivores, carnivores, and omnivores. Herbivores are the consumers that eat plants which in the ecosystem that I chose are jackrabbits, mice, quail, and insects. The carnivores eat meat. The carnivores in my ecosystem are scorpions, snakes, and lizards. Omnivores eat both plants and animals. I do not have any of those in my food web. Then you have decomposers, which feed off of dead organisms. In my ecosystem that I chose, that would be hawks and coyotes. This is what is called the cycle of life within the desert ecosystem. When you talk about the problems that humans cause on any ecosystem, it would be the growth in the population. Every time we expand where we as humans live we move into their territory which changes the food web in a very drastic way.…

The above food web describes how all the major categories of organism can work to together in an ecosystem. First let’s describe the producers, these are plants and trees the produce energy into the ecosystem. Next the consumer, there are three different types herbivores (deer), carnivores (birds), and omnivores (bears). Then the last category is decomposers, which happen to be like a consumer but they feed off animal dropping and dead organisms. This way it can break down and return the nutrients to the soil. They all complete a cycle which in returns works with the ecosystem making it stronger. With the human population growing they put a potential hazard of killing and damaging the areas. This would then create chaos in the ecosystem, which could cause the food chain to change.…
