CATERING ASSISTANT | FEBURARY 2015-PRESENT | NORTH HERTS LEISURE CENTRE
At my current Position as a catering assistant I have developed many skills, for example
• I have a good understanding of basic food safety and hygiene
• I am able to handle high volumes of orders on a station by myself, also having good timing to make sure orders go out together
• I am able to effectively deal with customers and complaints
• I am in charge of organizing and setting up party’s that we cater for and making sure they run smoothly and the customers are satisfied

Firstly, the job is very rewarding. Working with animals can be a very fulfilling job, interacting with guests, talking to them about something you are passionate about, watching animals grow up and start families of their owns. Even if you don’t get hands on contact with the animals, you can form bonds with them which over time become more than just about you giving them food. If the group of animals you work with are endangered, having breeding programs and releasing them to the wild and watching the number of wild animals grow would be an amazing feeling, to know that you helped that happen. I found out a lot about the possible career progression for each one and what is required to progress further. I have also researched information on the Weymouth sealife centre, finding more about them and their work experience program. Weymouth sealife centre have specific criteria that work experience applicants must meet before they can be considered. I also had a mock interview, preparing me for what a really work experience interview would be like. From the interview I explained my strengths and weaknesses and evaluated them, comparing them to the criteria required by the Weymouth sealife centre for their work
