Big City or Small Town

Some people prefer to live in a small town and others like to live in a big city. In my opinion, I would prefer to live in a big city because living in a big city has more advantages than living in a small town. Living in a big city is more convenient because in a big city there are many facilities for living, recreation, and health care. For instance, a big city usually has an integrated transportation infrastructure connecting all areas of the city. As a result, people living in a big city can commute conveniently using public transportation provided by the local government. Moreover, a big city generally has better schools and universities than a small town. Therefore, living in a big city would give the citizen more opportunities and alternatives to be equipped with good education before they enter into workplace. In addition, big cities provide more amusements than small towns, namely many numbers of shopping malls, parks, cafés, and recreation spots. Because of its attraction, many people from many places have moved to a big city. As a consequence, a big city becomes a melting pot, a multicultural place. In contrast, living in a small town would not make the residents learn from other cultures as well as customs for they only meet a few people having the same culture with them. Moreover, because of the high population density a big city generally has plenty of social activities like hobby clubs and art societies. Encountering with many sorts of people would broaden our horizons as well as provide us many opportunities to improve ourselves. Furthermore, friendship with many people sometimes could be beneficial in our workplaces. In conclusion, I prefer to live in a big city than a small town.
