BIDIRECTIONAL VISITOR COUNTER
Visitor counting is simply a measurement of the visitor traffic entering and exiting offices, malls, sports venues, etc. Counting the visitors helps to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of employees, floor area and sales potential of an organization .Visitor counting is not limited to the entry/exit point of a company but has a wide range of applications that provide information to management on the volume and flow of people throughout a location. A primary method for counting the visitors involves hiring human auditors to stand and manually tally the number of visitors who pass by a certain location. But human-based data collection comes at great expense.

Here is a low-cost microcontroller based visitor counter that can be used to know the number of persons at a place. All the components required are readily available in the market and the circuit is easy to build .Two IR transmitter-receiver pairs are used at the passage: one pair comprising IR transmitter IR TX1 and receiver phototransistor T1 is installed at the entry point of the passage, while the other pair comprising IR transmitter IR TX2 and phototransistor(TSOP sensor) T2 is installed at the exit of the passage. The IR signals from the IR LEDs should continuously fall on the respective phototransistors, so proper orientation of the transmitters and phototransistors is necessary.

Two similar sections detect interruption of the IR beam and generate clock pulse for the microcontroller. The microcontroller controls counting and displays the number of persons present inside the hall is also displayed on the seven segment displays. It receives the signals from the sensors, and this signal is operated under the control of software which is stored in ROM. Microcontroller AT89S52 continuously monitor the Infrared Receivers, When any object pass through the IR Receiver's then the IR Rays falling on the receiver are obstructed , this obstruction is sensed by the Microcontroller.

The system stores all the necessary information about the user. A new user is first registered to the system and the corresponding information is burned in the RFID tag. This RFID tag will then be accessible through the system. When a registered user comes to the entry point and puts his/her tag into the reader, the system checks whether he/she is a registered user or an imposter. If the user is registered, then the tab information is matched with the user information stored in system. The door is opened after the successful authentication and is closed automatically after a specific time interval. The check-in information is also stored in the database with the corresponding date and time. A log is also generated by the system according to the check-in information. Finally, this check-in information is stored in a central server along with the basic information of the…

You have to put your ID cards over the detectors (event trigger) and they then execute the code for the barriers to open or closed. If the ID card is accepted, the code will be run for the light to change green and for the barrier to open but if the ID card isn’t accepted, then the code will be run for the red light to show and the barriers will not open. An event driven programme here is not really suitable here as it can take a long time for the card to be checked and this can cause long queues of people. Also, people go in and out from the same direction so this can also be a problem as someone may wanting to go out and someone may wanting to go in.…

Everybody emits some radiation that the passive infrared sensor can detect either its low level of radiation or high level of radiation, passive infrared sensors are commonly found in stores, schools, or houses or any other buildings (Finio). Passive infrared sensors do not have the ability to tell anyone how many people are in the room or how close they are to the sensor, a passive infrared sensor has a material that makes two slots that are actually sensitive to the infrared (Ladyada). It’s good if the passive infrared sensor has a big and wide field of view for security systems when you need a sensor (Finio).
