Biblical Worldview Essay

God says in Genesis 1:26(KJV), “And God said, Let us make man our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and o fowl over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth.” I try to represent God in all and everything that I do, including my profession. As a Child Life specialist, I encounter many families that are going through dramatic changes in their life. It is important that I show these families the families the love of God.

When the opportunity is presented, I am sure to represent God to the best of my ability. In my eyes, this conversation may be the deciding factor on how a family receives devastating new. During these times I keep Matthew 18:19-20 in mind, “Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. (20) For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”(NKJV). I like to begin with this scripture because this lets the families know that God is with them and all we have to do is stand in agreement. I also like to use Isaiah 53:4-5, “Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”(NKJV).
Working as a Child Life Specialist is something that I really enjoy. It gives me the opportunity to show God’s love, compassion, mercy, and grace to parents and families. You may never know who day you may be changing be walking in God’s image. Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them” (NKJV). It brings me joy to know that I was able to leave a good, Godly impression. Christians should

During the time of Samuel, Judges ruled the people in Israel. The Israelites said to Samuel, “ You are old, and your sons do not follow your ways; now appoint a king to lead us, such as all the other nations have.” (APA, NIV, 1 Samuel 8:5) They desire a king because they thought the other nations having a man, as a leader will help them win their fight battles. Having a king would allow them to be lazy, and have someone else make all the calls and take on the burden of responsibilities they would have to deal with. The Israelites did not trust God’s judgment after the countless times he has provided for them. They wanted to be just like the other nations not knowing what God had in store for them. God being a favorable God give them what they wanted.…

Often times, new believers are encouraged to read through the book of Romans. This is because Paul is able to break down essential aspects of the Christian life in a way that is both probing and encouraging. It covers aspects of the natural world, human identity, relationships, and culture. As with every word of the Bible, this book transcends time and culture and speaks as much in todays’ time as it did to the Roman church to who Romans was originally written. As believers in Christ, it is important to live these truths so that He may use our lives for His glory and honor.…

A facet of Christian faith is the belief that mankind is created in the image of God. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” I believe we were created in God's image, and that it influences me every day as a manager at Target. The inherit image of God in myself shows me that I should treat others with dignity and have no bias or exploitation of others based on looks, creed, race, gender, etc. The inherit image of God in myself also shows me that I need to be a servant such as Jesus was.…

In Paul’s epistle to the Romans he gives us the foundation of Christian life in regards to how we should not only see the world, but also how we should act in a world that rejects the gospel of Christ. In Romans 1-8 Paul teaches us how we are not able to come to a saving grace through our works, but that it must come from Christ alone, and not only to the Jews, but to the Gentiles also. Paul tells us however, that this will not be easy, but we that we need to remember who is ultimately in control of everything around us.…

Competing worldviews are breaking out everywhere especially throughout North America. Two sides with vastly differing and incompatible worldviews are being locked in a bitter conflict that permeates every level of society. On one side of the battle is the Christian worldview, and on the other is the Humanist worldview divided into three branches: Secular Humanism, Marxism/Leninism, and Cosmic Humanism. It’s in this essay that we will seek to understand all of the three Humanist worldviews while presenting a strong, honest, truthful, intelligent defense of Biblical Christianity. As believers in and followers of Jesus Christ, we need to consider how our commitment to Him affects not just our political and ethical convictions, but also the way…

Introduction: The term "image of God" occurs three times in the Bible. In Genesis 1:26-27 and 9:6, we find out that man is created in the image of God. In 2 Cor. 4:4 we see the phrase used in reference to Jesus who is the "image of God." There is no exact understanding of what the phrase means, but we can generalize. It would seem that the first two verses refer to God's character and attributes that are reflected in people. The term cannot be a reference to a physical appearance of God since Jesus says in John 4:24 that God is Spirit, and in Luke 24:39 Spirit does not have flesh and bones. Therefore, we can conclude that the image of God deals with humanity's reflection of God in such things as compassion, rationality, love, hatred, fellowship, etc. God exhibits all of these characteristics, as do people.…

Too often we hear of people telling us the right thing to do, yet they do not abide by the sermons that they tell us. However, there are those few special people in our life that we look up to. We look up to them because they not only teach us the right way to live our lives, but they also provide us with a good example. Supplying a fine example teaches people more than someone just telling them what is right from wrong.…
