The Beatitudes is a model for Christian life as they warn against materialistic approaches to life. This is done through a reversal of values whereby things that are considered to have no value according to dominant culture are celebrated in the reign of God. * Jesus’ commandment of love
Jesus’ commandment of love can be condensed into the primary covenantal beliefs of love of God and love of neighbour. It essentially tells us to treat others the way we wish to be treated.
