The second is, all those engaged in a particular trade or profession or sharing a common interest or quality. These two definitions of brotherhood show the basic criteria of a brotherhood. The one thing the definition does not put into perspective is the deep brotherhood of the Rockhurst High School Swim & Dive team. The Rockhurst High School Swim & Dive team is a brotherhood. Everyone is aware of the name Wake Forest University carries. Obviously, I too want to be part of the Demon Decan Community. Wake Forest embodies the community spirit that encourages intellectualism and promotes civic engagement. The biggest reason for transferring to Wake Forest University is the philosophy of educating the whole person. As an Aga Khan Foundation Youth Ambassador, I was heavily involved with sustainable projects that had a purpose of solving challenges the ambassadors identified in the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex. Neither of our projects were one day projects, or charitable in any sense. Because the Aga Khan Foundation focuses on sustainable development, the ambassadors make sure to model the work and “Think globally, act locally.” Rooted deep into Wake Forest’s community is the…

Escondido Christian School ( ECS ) is an amazing school, I love and am extremely lucky to be going here. However, there are some things that I think if we upgrade some things, it would make the school a little more fun from Kindergarten, all the way up to eighth grade. So, I thought of a few things that I think would be really fun. The first thing that I thought of was, I thought would be the most fun. Cheerleading was one thing that the school doesn’t have and lots of people would probably want to do it. I was thinking that we could have it for an elective, but there would also be a cheerleading team for people who really wanted to cheerlead. The team could practice after school when the sports teams would have practice and could cheerlead at games. The only problem with that is that the boys and girls both have games at the same times. So to solve that problem, the team could split up to cheer for both games, kind of like an A and B team so that they could be at both games, except neither of the cheer teams would be better than the other. Another thing is that if we want a cheerleading team, we need uniforms. Those would cost some money, but we could have one of the moms make some uniforms. Per person you would need…

David Christian (Frances) Lutchko blessed me with his presence 15 months after I was born. I can honestly say I don’t remember a moment in my life where he wasn’t next to me. Somehow, God knew Dave and I would be the perfect pair of siblings. We were giving the title, “Irish twins,” even though we weren't 12 months apart. This title became a lot funnier once we became teens because everyone dropped the “Irish” part and we were referred as twins. We might not be twins by age, but in regards to everything else about us, we’re close to it.…

Caffeine, the stimulant in coffee, has been called “the most widely used psychoactive substance on Earth .” Synder, Daly and Bruns have recently proposed that caffeine affects behavior by countering the activity in the human brain of a naturally occurring chemical called adenosine. Adenosine normally depresses neuron firing in many areas of the brain. It apparently does this by inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters, chemicals that carry nerve impulses from one neuron to the next. Like many other agents that affect neuron firing, adenosine must first bind to specific receptors on neuronal membranes.…
