Best Place to Live Essay Contest
Best Place to Live Essay Contest
This is a great way to get elementary schools involved in helping promote the site to its students and most importantly, their parents. Students are invited to write and essay as to why their community is the best place to live. They can submit them to the site f done electronically, or you can provide a mailing address for those entries that are done by hand. (If you allow this, you’ll need to scan them and upload to the site.) Often, the mailed versions are the more popular versions, as the youngest students tend to draw colorful pictures with their story. Because the essay involves creativity, the school’s administration is usually receptive. And because it is not an assignment, and they can gain an acknowledgement as well as a prize, students want to participate.

The goal of this promotion is to get the schools to send home a flyer with the students. Use the flyer we provide you as a starting point and customize to your situation. If you need our assistance, please contact your Account Manager. You can reproduce the flyer very inexpensively at a local copy place such as Kinkos. The flyer, if passed out by the school, is all of the promotion you should need.

This creates a third part endorsement which adds credibility and value to the community site, and to you. We suggest that call and arrange a meeting with the school principal. Explain that you have a contest

We recommend a grand prize that is something elementary school students would get excited about. Examples of prizes used in this promotion include a Razor Scooter, a Hand Held Video Game and an MP3 Player. For all of the participants, we suggest something promoting the

    Case Study: East Minico

East Minico would like a total $1,500 to provide incentives for students to come to school. East would like to reward grade levels for having good attendance, grades, and behavior. Our idea is that the grade level with the best attendance percentage would earn a point each week. After each trimester, students in the grade level with the most points will earn a reward party. The money ($500 per trimester) would go towards some sort of treat (E.g. ice cream, pizza, pop, etc.) and to buy rewards (such as gift cards or certificates) for students in drawing. Students would be added to the drawing based on their attendance that trimester.…

    2. While being on ASB, I would love to better the students’ source of motivation. We as (Your School's Name) students want to exceed the limit of excellence, because that is what is required of us, and what we are capable of. My theory is that if someone believes that they are going to be rewarded, whether it be with physical objects or even a couple of encouraging words, they will try their hardest to achieve whatever it is. For example, some students will try so hard to get good grades, so that their parents can be proud or give them a prize, but either will get the desired result. Which is why I think a good project would be a weekly raffle, with… Rewards! The students could be rewarded for good grades, perfect attendance, doing something that was appreciated; the list could go on and on. This will encourage the students to go above and beyond what is expected of them.…
