Beowulf Is An Epic Hero
In my opinion I think that Beowulf is the most epic hero. Beowulf fits this because he goes on long dangerous journeys to and through foreign lands, he is courageous and after death becomes legendary. Beowulf travels to Gendel, a man eating giant, to punish and kill him for the lives he has taken through the middle of the night in order to protect his people. Beowulf travels to kill Grendel's mother who was seeking revenge for her son's death and he also travels to his last battle with the dragon. Throughout the story of Beowulf he is courageous and not selfish in many ways. During his fight with Grendel, Beowulf knows that nobody has ever survived his attacks but still fights anyways with only his bare hands. Beowulf knows that Grendel’s mother

He strives for greatness, his words are arrogant but his actions shine through his overbearing pride and give him the capability to be heroic. (Part B) Beowulf is an epic hero; he takes great pride in his actions, unlike Grendel who feels jealous of humans which causes him to be spiteful towards them: “ Grendel snatched at the first Geat / He came to (and) Ripped him apart” (313-314).
