Bento Health Center Mission Statement Analysis
Mission Statement of Bento Health Center:
A mission statement should provide the purpose of an organization. A mission statement should be clear and concise. It should capture the heart of organizations today’s work and future work. A mission statement should be crisp and clear and should help organization differentiate from other organizations in the community. This helps them to promote their differentiation advantage over their competitors within the community.
Using the strategic thinking map for writing a mission statement, I have come up with the following analysis regarding the mission statement of CHCBLC
• I feel, the mission statement of Community Health Centers of Benton and Linn Counties is broad, yet specific. It tell us the purpose

In this way, they are not just targeting to insured or uninsured population specifically and they can develop organizational strategies to take care of the uncompensated care provided by their health centers.
• It targets well to the audience by providing the details about the geographic location in which they render services - Benton and Linn counties.
• The important uniqueness of this organization is providing coordinated care using creative community partnerships.
• The mission statement clears identifies them as market leaders in changing the form of health care delivery and the organization is striving hard to provide quality care to the patients in the community. They clear specified their desired public image – How they want to be known in public.
• I think the mission statements helps to develop organizational strategies, because they are clear about the services, target population and ways by which they strive to achieve the medical home status. The mission statement talks about the community partnerships which will help them gain resources with minimal cost. The mission statement provides the sum of action that this organization is undertaking to achieve their long term goal of promoting and supporting health and wellness.
Vision and Value

A vision led approach is important for the leaders to direct the resource. A vision statement should be clear, concise, simple and inspirational. Every employee in an organization should be able to understand it and be highly motivated to work towards it. The value statement helps build the organizational culture. I would take up the following steps to develop effective vision and value statements.
• I would first like to read the strategic plan of the CHCBLC. I would like to indulge in some serious introspection. I would like to answer some questions like
- Who we are?
- What are the goals of this organization?
-What are the core values and core competencies?
• Since, vision statements require an insight to the future state of the company, I would like to include the senior leadership in my team along with the managers of different departments.
• I would use the strategic thinking map to write a vision statement along with my team and review it with the senior leadership.
• After the vison statement is finalized, I would like to develop plans to implement it. Develop training sessions, help the employees understand the value of the vision statement, create continuous learning processes and develop a plan for revising it at a future date.
