Benjamin Harrison who was a senator from the state Indiana and the grandson of the hero of Tippecanoe (a fight) became one of the candidates with his record in the civil war; his (quality of being liked by other soldiers) among union soldiers earned him votes if the states Indiana and Ohio. He had many of intelligent thinking of his chance of winning the election; he was a (war between groups that all live in one country) soldier with a good record and the fact is that Grover Cleveland had made many enemies during his time in office. The election was a tough one Grover Cleveland won 5,534,488 popular and Benjamin Harrison won 5,444,892 popular votes. The electoral votes which Benjamin won 65 more than Cleveland he had enough to win the race.The election of 1888 did not feature any other same evil and violent (series of actions to reach a goal) disagreements between things as election of 1876 . Grover Cleveland had stood against a political machine which might have been responsible for Cleveland losing New York votes.
