The Second Amendment promotes hunting. By giving people access to guns, they are able to use them for many things, one being killing innocent animals for entertainment. Although some people say they need food, going to the grocery store would cost less than a rifle. When hunting occurs, animal populations decrease. Similarly, a plethora of animal species have become extinct and endangered due to the overkilling of them for small parts of their body, like the ivory of elephant tusks. With less animals in the world, less research will be able to take place. Scientists will not be able to study the extinct animals and will never get to learn more about them. Firstly, people with violent and harmful intentions have easy access to guns. For example, in San Bernardino, California, one of the reasons why people were killed is because a terrorist received a gun with no hassle. Moreover, in 2012, Chief Maloney of the Greenland Police was shot and killed by a mentally unstable man. The man had received a gun through easy terms and proceeded to sell drugs at his house. Once the police came, he shot the Chief, his girlfriend, and then himself. This event could’ve been prevented through stricter gun laws. With harsher gun laws in place, there would be less hunting and less surprise attacks on small, innocent neighborhoods. Additionally, mentally ill people could receive guns easily. Obviously it isn’t a good idea to let mentally unstable people have guns, so this could result with unfortunate outcomes. If an adult with children has a gun, no matter how safe you think the location of it is, the child could gain access to the gun. This is an extreme hazard and must be controlled in a more civilized manner. With this said, we need to have stricter gun laws so guns are more difficult to
