Benefits Of Raising The Minimum Wage
I think that raising the minimum wage is more beneficial to workers and the economy since it would help those individuals that can barely make a living. Furthermore, not only would it provide aid to the employees, but it would also be good for the economy. It doesn't really affect the person's income when the minimum wage is increased. This are the reasons why I think that raising the minimum wage would be good.
Raising the minimum wage would help those families who are struggling to supply their children with necessities. These families might barely have enough to pay all the bills they owe from their check. By doing so it would help them cover the expenses that their having to do at their home. This can also have an advantage since it would

Two main issues that workers face are insufficient wages to support their families which causes them to depend on government funding. Secondly, workers are faced with decreased job satisfaction due to making low wages. In my opinion, minimum wages should be increased because it will allow workers to feel that they have job security. Additionally, increased pay will allow people to further support themselves and avoid taking benefits from the government and can use…

Some people believe that raising minimum wage will help with economic growth, while others believe that minimum wage would do the opposite and actually force the manager to lay off many employees and raise unemployment levels. After researching both sides of this argument I believe that minimum wage should not be raised because after the price is higher, the company will not have enough money to pay all their employees and would have to make sacrifices such as laying off employees and maybe replacing them with machines so they don't have to pay them. If the minimum wage is raised many bad things could happen because of it.…

Raising the minimum wage affects all workers young and old. You might might think that receiving more money is a good thing but it actually negatively affects the economy and its jobs. Raising the minimum wage will eliminate jobs because the employer has to pay the workers more so they will hire less and might replace them with computers or robots. Oxford University researchers Carl Benedikt Frey, PhD, and Michael A. Osborne, DPhil, stated in a 2013 study that "robots are already performing many simple service tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, lawn mowing, and gutter cleaning" and that "commercial service robots are now able to perform more complex tasks in food preparation, health care, commercial cleaning, and elderly care." Raising the…

Hello Julia, I agree with you. minimum wage should not be raised because there will be high price production, and inflation, which will hurt consumer especially the low-income family. Raising the minimum wage commonly may be seen as a way to give a low-income worker a raise, but it resulted in a surplus since the minimum wage is a price floor. Surplus happens when the quantity of supply is greater than the quantity of demand. In this case, more people are willing to work than employers are willing to hire at the stage of minimum wage price rising and it will result in high unemployment. There would be a high unemployment rate because employers are forced to pay more which likely lead them to hire fewer workers in the workplace, especially for the small business or companies. Fewer people getting hiring mean less work is being done.…

One of the most controversial topics is raising minimum wage; in fact, people feel ambivalent about it. Over the years minimum wage has not been mercurial; indeed, it has always been low, making people under the poverty line struggle by not being able to provide the essential necessities for themselves. Raising minimum wage would help quell people living at the poverty level. I believe raising minimum wage would help people at the poverty level become more resilient at the fact that their pay would increase. Hopefully raising minimum wage would make human population more benevolent and maybe they will even give kudos to the government for this action. It is very unequivocal to me that if the minimum wage was raised then the poor, lugubrious…

The raising of minimum wage would cause businesses to lay off many of their workers. This increases the unemployment rate in our country. Furthermore the poverty level in our country would be increased by raising minimum wage. Those people who one would think would benefit from a raise in the wage, would actually be negatively affected. Their increase in pay means a decline in the hours they are allowed to work. The decrease in hours is because the demand for the expensive products has gone down. The products have become more expensive, because of the raise in wages. Raising the wages starts a trickle affect that affects many people (ProCon.org).…

There has been a lot of discussion regarding the increase of minimum wage across the nation. Currently, the wage is set at a low amount of $7.25 an hour. In today’s society it is almost impossible to live on only an income of $7.25 an hour especially for those who are raising a family. In President Obama’s 2013 State of the Union Address, the president proposed to raise the minimum wage to 9 dollars by the year 2015 (Luhby). A higher minimum wage would help people living in poverty by providing better means of financial stability, and it would also improve the chances of those people trying to escape poverty stricken living conditions. Another bonus to increasing the minimum wage is that it could potentially…
