In the span of our existence, humans have always seen soldiers and war veterans as higher than man. Though this is evident in our culture today, we have also realized that those who return come back in different forms. A war veteran is seen as someone with endless amount of courage and infinite power of will. We see it all the time whether it’s a picture, television ad displaying a soldier standing tall and holding their country’s flag proudly, or it’s the iconic picture taken in Iwo Jima (if you don’t know which one that is, it is the one of all the soldiers lifting the American flag on top of a hill). America’s gift to my generation is all of the job opportunities and education that this country offers. In other countries, students who are not smart enough do not attend a normal high school. In America, it is required that all children have an education until they get to high school, where they are offered the opportunity unless they choose to drop out. We also have many job opportunities that come with our education. If you put in the effort in school you will be able to go to college and get an advanced education that will help you be successful in finding a well paying job.…

In order to be an American, living there doesn’t mean you are an American. I believe to be an American you need to have to believe in the rules that it was founded upon and trust in your abilities in order to succeed. You also need to respect your fellow Americans in the hopes that they will treat you with the same respect. The same rule applies with American flag. The American flag represents what America and its people have struggled through throughout 300 years in order to maintain peace in our country. The flag has been held in the highest honor for the entire lifetime of this country and has seen the best and the worst of all the actions of its leaders and citizens. The one aspect that truly captures the essence of what it means to be an American is the respect that we have given the flag.…

Emigration, a dream that almost everyone wishes it comes true, is a positive forward step that everyone should take if it is available. People argue that each one has to stay to help in developing his/her country, to be with his/her family as life is worth nothing without them, and to avoid racism that is spread all over the world. On the other hand, to emigrate does not stand for only getting away from a bad economic condition, but also it is a step for a bright future that guarantees a higher level of experience, better life quality, and more security…

Here, in America, my family faced yet another obstacle. They did not speak a word of English and had no financial support. Despite this, they were able to find jobs and worked hard to pay for rent and food. I watched my dad come home after working 12 hours a day. My father always provided me with the necessities in life: food, clothing, shelter, and so much more. He sacrificed himself so I can have more than he ever had. He has given me so much, including the most important thing in the world: all of his love.…
