Hello, my name is Myra Maybelle Shirley. Born on February 5, 1848 Carthage, Missouri. I had 2 brothers, John Allison or Bud as we called him was 6 years older than myself and Edwin 1 year younger then me. That means I was the middle child. When I was little everyone loved me and didn't care what I did.

But known one really paid attention to that because of the civil war going on in all, because we were southerners. John Shirley my father sold the farm and built a very luxurious hotel. We had 2 slaves to help with the work and chores. Father also helped to established a female academy in Carthage in 1855, so I could go to school and get an education. The best horse rider in Carthage was of course myself. My love for house would last until I die. But my love for my brother would not.
Main Idea 2: The Bandit Queen
How I became the bandit queen, well it all started trying to keep my brother save from getting killed. I did this by flirting with the Union soldiers and getting them to tell me if or when and where they planned to get my brother, so I was a spy. One time I got captured and when I got loose I cut loose a bunch of horses and they followed me and I went to go help my brother and I did, they took the horse of of my hands, that is why people believe that I was the leader of a band of horse thieves. I was riding my horse on the way home and could not take the trails due to the past 2 days of raining. So as I road I did not notice the shadowy figure along the fence. I was just 40 feet away from the fence when the figure stood up and shot at my back with a 2 barreled shotgun. I fell off of my horse into the mud, I was bleeding from my neck and side because that is we're I was struck. Struggling to get up the figure rushed over and unloaded the other barrel into my face and shoulder. This time I gave up on struggling to get up and lay motionless in the mud. The murderer now well satisfied disappeared into the night. Up till today my death has been a mystery, and a unsolved murder.
Conclusion (including death/what I am currently doing): My life ended with my daughter pearl next to me begging me to hang on and that help was coming, as she cradled my bloody head in her hands. I passed on listening to my beloved daughter begging me to hang on and to stay with her. Years later after my funeral Pearl commander workers to build a 2 foot high wall around my grave. On the headstone the stonecutter engraved:
