Being Poor
Honestly, being poor is terrible. I am stick thin and always hungry. Everyday I’m scared that somebody in my family might die from starvation. I always get sad when I see other kids with phones and new clothes while I’m here wearing the same shirt I’ve worn for a week. I wish that I could walk around the streets without being insecure about my dirty clothes. I’m sometimes lonely because I don’t have many friends since I don’t really go to school. Also, I hate feeling needy whenever I ask strangers for extra money. But, what keeps me going everyday is the hope that things might get better, that maybe I won’t be homeless forever. Even though sometimes I am afraid and feel lost, I know my life will get easier eventually.
