I have been courageous many times in my life. For example, I have helped someone over time. I have also helped my cousin, my cousin got a brand new bike and he was so excited at camp that he drove his bike right through camper traffic, and I had to go ride my bike in through the camper traffic to save him I got hurt doing it but he didn't that's the good thing. I am afraid to speak in front of a large/medium group of people, and I have had projects where I had to speak in front of groups, So this means that I have had to overcome that fear and that was a goal I had to strive for in order to get past my fear of speaking in front of large amounts of groups. So in this essay I am going to talk about being courageous. Speaking in front of large amounts of groups can get scary and you don't want to choke, so you have to be courageous and have to overcome that fear, you also have to get used to the fear because in Middle school, High school, and College, if you go to college. There has been a progression of bullying happening as many may have noticed, in order to be able to get the bullying to stop or to even calm down someone needs to step up and have a talk, or needs to discipline the bullies. Walking down hallways at school, people say mean words, they do not think of other people's feelings as they say the cruel words coming out of their mouths. Mostly, the reasons being why children, and young adults are usually bullying someone may be because they were not disciplined enough as a child, their parents may have not been around to do so, or they may have a rough life at home. The reasoning trying to be stated is the bullying comes from selfish people. A person can tell if somebody else is selfish or not because selfish people tend to block out what others are feeling around them, how their days went, and/or what is going on in their lives. Selfish people do not care about anyone else except for themselves. A selfish person could see somebody with nothing to their name and still not help them because they do not want to do anything for anybody else. Everyone may have a friend or a family member who they may think is a selfish person, as many people may know a person that is selfish do not be afraid to stand up to them and knock them down and tell them what they are doing is wrong. Selfish people are everywhere in todayś society and they do not care if…

Courage is often called “The Rarest Virtue”, mostly because it is identifying things that frighten or challenge us and facing them with confidence and bravery. A small number of people fully accomplish this. Unfortunately, many do not choose to face tough situations, instead they walk away. Very few people actually choose to act with courage and confront the circumstances.…

In chapter 50 of the Speak With Courage textbook I learned to Set a goal, and then set out to achieve that goal. Going right along with this I also learned that on the day you speak, as the person you are, with the skills, knowledge, and aptitudes you possess, do the best you can and let it go. Personally, I often become overwhelmed that people will not like my speech because I am not the most talented or gifted student at strategically and efficiently expressing myself. Other times I feel like I am competing with my sister for the best speech performance. After reading these tremendous chapters in the Speak With Courage textbook I feel a renewed sense of motivation to not compare myself to others. I also find it helpful to go into each speech…

Schools all over America are adopting these Anti-Bullying campaigns in order to help avoid these bullying issues. What the campaigns do is that they focus on teaching kids courage and self-confidence, educating people on how to see the signs, teaching self-esteem, establishing safe havens, and getting communities and other people to get involved in the campaigns. The movement is not only just help for the kids, but it also helps the parents so that they can also help their kids if bullying is happening to their children. Bullying can be very mentally harming to not only victims, but sometimes witnesses and bystanders. It can influence hostile and aggressive behavior, depression which could eventually lead to suicide, anxiety, declining grades and strange behavior, and worsening health in both. Anti-Bullying campaigns like “STOMP Out Bullying” and many others aim to reduce and prevent bullying, cyber-bullying, digital abuse, homophobia, racism and hate, school absenteeism, and diminishing violence in…

It is hard to ignore the fact that most bullying goes unnoticed or unreported in schools, a place where adults are constantly present. With the exposure bullying has gotten in recent years people would think that schools have sophisticated methods of dealing with bullying, however this is not the case in most schools. Throughout many schools it can be seen that not enough is done to resolve the bullying and harassment happening on a day to day bases. Bullying has become an epidemic, and it needs to come to an end. If people will stand up for each other and protect each other, I believe bullying would cease to be effective. It preys on those who do not have the confidence to defend themselves. Often times, the bully hurts others as a way of protecting himself. He believes that if he attacks others, then they will not know he himself is hurting, or has been hurt in the past. It becomes a coping mechanism for him. The biggest thing to keep in mind is that bullying should not be responded to with more violence. They need to be shown love, but firm love. A love that says, “I love you enough to not let you continue down this path. Let me show you another way.” Then you are not only l protecting those that the bully hurts, but also you are protecting the bully himself in the long run.…

Right now, 160,000 kids are either being bullied at school or are at home because they can’t face going to school! This is a frightening statistic. No child should be scared to go to school. No one has the right to put anyone down. The only way we can deal with bullies is to stand up to them, show them that the way they are treating others is unacceptable, and needs to be changed. Bullies expect that people treat them with respect, but they do not show that to anyone! Bullying is taking over schools, and it needs to be controlled.…

Every day, somewhere in the world, someone is getting bullied and it’s your choice whether or not to do something about it. Most people choose to stay out of harm’s way if they’re not the one getting bullied and few people choose to stand up for themselves if they are the one bullied. I believe that helping or asking for help is the only way to solve a bullying problem. The reason why people choose not to say anything is because they’re scared of what might happen. The “consequence” of telling on someone is what most people think about first, so why put yourself in a place where you don’t need to be right? If it’s not your problem then it’s not a problem to you at all? These thoughts are the reasons why bullying is never stopped.…
