Compare and Contrast The song “Being Boring” was written in 1989 by Neil Tenant, but was sung by a group call the Pet Shop Boys. The ideology behind this song is The Great Gatsby because during the nineteen twenties, also known as the Roaring twenties, it was all about being wealthy and having opportunities. This song is about three eras in their life: the 1920’s, the 1970’s and the 1990’s (Being Boring by Pet Shop Boys). These three eras are important because these were big times in America. In the first verse it talks about the 1920’s and just explains what their goals in life were. Then in the second verse it talks about their 1970’s which is important because during this time it was all about sex, drugs and dancing. This generation was known as the “me generation” which suggest they did stuff because they liked it or it felt good not because anyone else told them to. Lastly the final verse talks

The poem was written by Wendy Cope who was a famous British author who was known for writing about the economy and being able to get a lot across with very few words. Also, in most of her work, it is hard to tell if she is serious or if she is being sarcastic. The structure of this poem is very important because the way the poem is written tells a lot about what it is saying. In this poem the ideology is her life and how nothing is really changing. She is very content in how her life is. The poem suggest she has a boyfriend/husband when is says “Yes, he is the same as he usually is,” In the second stanza she also refers to her past and how there was enough drama for her. If nothing much happens she is thankful because she is very happy with her life right now. The poem is called Being Boring because to other people her life would seem like a bore because nothing ever happens but to her it’s perfect because how her life is now is just how she wants

Once a year, with the routine of a Delaware Park, millions of people claiming to be my kin would storm my hometown. The family did not appear little by little, but as an actual overflowing of oddness, and often senility. The family’s elders, in their twenty-year-old gas guzzlers, circled the town like vultures, finally nesting at the middle of the pavilion. As the rusty doors squeaked open in protest, I could almost hear old school songs blasting deathlike through my mind. It was time for the…

The Boring Day It was a really boring day, probably one of the most boring days I’ve ever had. I haven’t had such a boring day in a month. My computer was broken so I couldn’t browse the internet or socialize. My friends have gone on a vacation for summer break together while I had to go to summer school. Now it’s the weekend and it couldn’t have got any more boring. My mom asked me to walk to the plaza down the street to buy some milk. I went upstairs to my room and got dressed. I decided to…

Probably composed in late 1606 or early 1607, Macbeth is the last of Shakespeare's four great tragedies, the others being Hamlet, King Lear and Othello. It is a relatively short play without a major sub-plot, and it is considered by many scholars to be Shakespeare's darkest work. Lear is an utter tragedy in which the natural world is amorally indifferent toward mankind, but in Macbeth, Shakespeare adds a supernatural dimension that purposively conspires against Macbeth and his kingdom. In the tragedy…

The warm sunshine that was streaming through the classroom window was doing nothing to help my concentration as I sat in class trying to pay attention. The teacher’s monotone voice droning on about some dead men who fought in a battle hundreds of years ago was slowly putting me to sleep. I was taking notes as best I could when suddenly I would realize that my eyes were closed! I opened them quickly and looked at my notebook. The last line I had written on the page ended in nonsensical words…
