Using What Is Given

Being a junior in high school has its perks: I have more high school experience, I earn more freedoms as I get older, and I am only a year away from graduation. Despite these good things, being a junior is not always easy. There is a significant problem that I have to address: my future. It is a big, abstract puzzle that demands to be solved. Since the only thing standing between me and legal freedom is my final year of high school, I have to make plenty of preparation for my future. Every student prepares for their future beyond high school in different ways; for me, I use the resources that are given to me in order to propel me toward an excellent future.

The web holds many interesting things for me besides Youtube and social media. There are plenty of websites dedicated to helping students academically prepare for their futures. Almost all the time I use these websites to look into colleges that are my best fit and to learn more about what my desired career path holds for me. The best part is that the information I get can always be updated the instant something changes. One of the best things they do is give me advice on how to get to where I want to be. “We know that it's hard, but you can do it,” they encourage. Hello Dr. Aaron Oberman and fellow classmates. I’m excited to be taken this course because I’m almost at the finish line of completing my degree. I have been working in social services for almost 15 years helping adults meeting their needs while aiming at becoming self-sufficient. I enjoy my job, but I’m burned out, meaning my job no longer brings me the same satisfactions as it did 15 years ago. I reevaluated my life giving consideration to my age, family and happiness and decided it was time for a career change. As an undergrad student, I recall an instructor telling us in life most people will have a job and a career. Social Services is currently my job and school counseling will be my career. With age I have learned helping others…

Once you are a senior in high school, there comes a point where the glorified “disease” senioritis comes into the picture. Senioritis is the lack of care people give for school work and grades when one becomes a senior in high school. It’s basically just procrastination to the fullest effect. Some people claim that the disease started back in freshman year, but in reality those people are just really lazy. I believe that people get senioritis when they feel that they don’t need to keep on learning. I believe that the school system kills the drive for students to excel anymore than they have to.…
