Assuming that these results reflect the faculty across the entire school and based on my analysis, I believe Lacy Elementary is ready to implement a school-wide Positive Behavioral Support System (PBSS). “The common features to implementing RTI and PBIS include the following: (a) coordination of schoolwide prevention efforts and systems, (b) universal screening and progress monitoring, (c) selection and use of evidence-based practices, (d) professional development that targets evidence-based practice, (e) evaluating outcomes using data-based decision making, and (f) leadership commitment from administrators and school-based teams that supports school-wide implementation” (Kame’enui, Good, & Harn, 2005; Sugai & Horner, 2006).…

Throughout my journey through this class I have been able to think of many goals to set for myself to allow me to be healthier. First, I will start with my nutritional goals. The first nutritional goal I will talk about is my daily caloric intake. From now on, I plan to limit my daily calories to 1200 making sure I do not fall below the 1200 count. I realize how important it is to consume at least 1200 calories a day; falling below the 1200 calorie count can lead to…

Also, these articles proved that the two behaviors I wanted to change go hand in hand with one another. When I first started this project, I noticed I wasn’t taking it as seriously become change doesn’t happen overnight. However, about two days after vowing to start, I began meal prepping to eat when there is down time between my classes. These meals or snacks consisted on whole apples, fruit salads, home cooked rice and chicken, and occasionally a whole-wheat sandwich. Although, there were somedays I forgot to pack my lunches which forced me to drink 16 oz of water to curve my cravings. Moreover, on days I failed to pack my lunch and water plagued a huge set back in my progress. During these times, I took a couple trips to In N Out and other fast food joints. Even though I knew how tired and heavy I would feel after eating a greasy meal, it became a much easier routine. As time went on and I ran into the same mishap, I found myself proudly driving past fast food restaurants and overjoyed when purchasing a fresh Sprouts vegetable salad or protein…

In my self-directed behavioral change project, I encountered a lot of difficult challenges and obstacles in reaching my ultimate goal: a better night’s sleep. My goals for this behavioral change project were to establish a proper sleep and bedtime regimen, getting a full-night’s rest and ultimately feeling more alert and energetic through the day. My main goals were to improve my sleep cycle/regimen by getting the necessary eight hours of sleep I need every night and waking up in the morning feeling fully rested and not sleepy, tired, or groggy at all. This is what I set out to do and I recorded all the times I went to bed, times I’d fall asleep, times I’d wake up in the middle of the night, and times I’d wake up next morning. I recorded all of my observations and occurrences for two weeks and noticed some positive change in my bed-time pattern. I was able to get the necessary eight hours of sleep every night and felt a difference the next day.…

My current exercise habits have not been consistent. I have been working more than doing physical exercise lately, but I do moderately exercise daily. I usually start off lifting weights in the morning when the testosterone level is at its peak. After at least 45min, I run at least 3miles around the neighborhood and then I’m typically finished for the day unless I decide to take a swim in the evening. I only exercise on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday’s. Using the Physical Tracker, I would describe my activity level during a 3-day period satisfactory. According to the goal I set for myself, I feel I can definitely eat more to increase my chances of getting the results I’m looking for. Since I have been tracking what I eat, I realize that I may need to do less physical activity and more eating healthy foods. In a three day period, SuperFood Tracker is tracking I burned over 2, calories. That is far beyond my set goal.…
