It's an easy behavior to change
Drinking more water could save me money The patterns associated with my behavior are simple.
In this report it will investigate at least three recent health education campaigns and use them to explain two models of behaviour change. Most people today seemed to brush away the idea of too much is as bad as less when it comes to consuming water, because really, water can’t be that bad. It is the fountain of life people! So drinking too much should not be a problem. Or it should? That’s the issue. We are not aware of the possible repercussions when we drink too much water thanks to some “organizations with vested interest” sporting ads about drinking eight glasses of water. (They made us even guilty if we don’t reach the quota.)…
• Daily recommendations (What are they for water? Do the sports beverages have daily recos? If not, explain how one should use them).…
The basic way of staying hydrated is drinking water. Doctors suggest a minimum of six to eight ounce glasses per day. However, those with more active lifestyles may require more due to heavier water loss. Other beverages may be consumed, although, they cannot take the place of water. Fruit and vegetable juices are beneficial, but could have too much sugar. Caffeinated drinks,…
But I told myself that I will be healthier quicker if I drink water, whether I want to or not. So, against my desire, I kept up the 40 oz. and promptly noticed an improvement in my health. My headache decreased, my stomach hurt less and was able to digest better, and I had more strength to move around. Because of only two full glasses of water, my noxious sickness dwindled in only a few hours.…
With the inevitable coming of midterms, presentations, labs, and school work—the stress has become a problem. I’ve lost focus on both short-range and long-range goals in changing the behavior. I slipped up and made a mistake, and temporarily lapsed to going to back to Facebook for a long duration. Before I could realize, it has become a complete relapse, going back to a full-blown pattern of unwanted behavior, or even worst. I stopped record keeping from 02/23/10 till now. This has made it even worst. I’ve realized that I went on Facebook, much more frequently even more than the baseline, in both frequency and duration of each login. I’ve also noticed that it is a cycle: stress induces the…
We’ve all heard it for many years now, the importance of making sure we drink enough water to keep our bodies healthy. After all, the human body is composed of mostly water, with adults averaging 55% - 60% water and babies averaging closer to 75%. The human brain is actually made up of close to 70% water (why you feel foggy headed when you are dehydrated), and the lungs are closer to being 90% water.…
Every cell in your body needs water in order to repair and grow new tissue. Drinking enough water keeps the immune system elevated to be successful in fighting off inflammations. Drink eight or more glasses of water every day. Hydrated cells age more slowly, so your recaptured youth will stay around longer. Be kind to yourself.…
Recently, I watched the movie Tapped and it points out many interesting things. Water companies don’t have to give their condition reports of their water to the public while tap water is constantly regulated by the EPA. Another thing it pointed out was just how many contaminants are found in bottled water. There are many hazardous things in the bottles that people drink from everyday and most of us don’t realize how dangerous this is to us. It also pointed out the damage that these bottles have on the environment after they are thrown away.…
I would use facebook to start a video making competition among colleges throughout the nation. It is open to college students and the topic for the competition is how Vitamin Water boosts your energy for your daily. Participants need to film a video no longer than 5 minutes to describe how Vitamin Water refreshes their bodies and helps them to have an energetic life every day. Then all participants need to upload their videos to Vitamin Water’s facebook page and people can vote by clicking the “like” button for the video. The video who has the most numbers of like will be the winner. The campaign is to be held for a month and during this month people can go to Vitamin Water’s facebook page to vote for their favorite video. The prize for the winner would be scholarship offered by Coca-Cola Company and his/her idea may be adopted to be used in real TV commercials. To encourage people to visit Vitamin facebook page, the Coca-Cola Company will randomly choose fifty people who have even voted on the facebook page and give them special souvenirs and coupons from the company.…
Although this is my first year not competing or being on a team, I still considered myself an athlete. Even though I have been taught and educated on the importance of staying hydrated, I am the type of person that hardly ever drinks water or other beverages. One of the worst feelings is not being able to recover after a workout and I have felt that from time to time. I never thought that it could be because of my hydration habits. But, after reading this article, I believe I have found the cause. I need to stay hydrated especially when I am working out. This article has hopefully influenced my brain and body enough to realize that this is something that I need to do because I want to be healthy and strong. This article also relates to the general public. I have noticed that society and the media are making a push towards educating people on staying hydrated. I believe that this is an amazing idea because our society needs these healthy tips. Everyone needs to learn about the importance of drinking plenty of water or isotonic solutions after a workout, practice, or strenuous…
I agree that bottled water most often turns into a great demand during times of disaster. I remember a small city called Flint Michigan which had to turn to bottled water because their water was so contaminated that people were getting sick from drinking it. One other thing that that could be affected during the time of high demand for bottled water, is the plastic used to make to bottles. Bottled water sales have grown as high as 17.8 percent in one year’s time (Hogan, 2014). Each year we as Americans consume a lot of bottled water, whether it be during a disaster or just during out every day lives.…
It was a few months ago when I was enjoying the pools at Harry’s Water Park and I started to reflect on the fact that our water sustainability is quickly diminishing. It’s probable that in the future, we wouldn’t get water for laundry. It’s hard but you never miss anything until it’s gone. I sat down yesterday watching a documentary on water, and they talked about the importance of water. It struck a chord with me as they said factual things. Firstly, humans need water for survival. Our bodies need water for digestion, absorption and transportation of substances around the body. Water is fundamental as it acts as a lubricant on your joints and it also cushions vital organs. It’s critical as it keeps the bowels working properly as it prevents constipation and research suggests…
