Surgeons operate on patients to treat injuries, such as broken bones; diseases, such as cancerous tumors; and deformities. During the course of an operation, the surgeon must make important decisions about the patient’s health, safety, and welfare. The average cost of education to become a surgeon is about $150,000-$250,000 or more.
But, the average salary is about $249,000 per year. Depending on different surgeon’s job and area of study, they can either make more of less money.
