Becoming A Nurse Scholarship Essay
Having a positive impact on those around me has always been important to me; being kind to people is a wonderful legacy to leave behind. My continual kindness to everyone I meet will now be translated into a career in healthcare; a lifetime of caring for and always putting others first. I have always felt that I wanted to be a nurse. I always was so impressed with the work that nurses do and thought I could make an impact in the world if I chose this profession. As part of my volunteer experience at Danvers High School, I worked quite a bit with young children, and I really felt a strong connection with them. This has made me consider specializing in pediatric nursing as a career.

I am not looking for a glamorous job; I want to be in a role where I feel like I’m making a positive difference in people’s lives. As a nurse, I will make a living behaving in the way I want to live my life. I will be a source of strength for my patients; I will ease their fears, provide comfort and lessen their pain. I will make them smile, at a time when they never expected a smile to cross their face. I will help them learn the behaviors that will allow them to take care of themselves and respect their fascinating and amazing bodies. I will give them support, when their minds may be dominated by fear and worry. I will to provide the highest level of care to my patients and treat them with dignity and respect. I simply hope to help people.
I know this is a difficult path, but I am confident I can achieve my goals and become an excellent nurse. I have a very strong work ethic and an unrelenting intellectual curiosity that keeps me pushing to learn and master new skills. As intense as I am about academic excellence, I also strive to always be kind and respectful. Kindness matters, a very true message, and one I try to live by every day. I believe I have what it takes to be successful as I learn to be a nurse and that I will excel in this field and make a difference in the lives of my patients and everyone around

    I love the nursing field; there are a variety of nursing specialties. Job opportunities for nurses are endless. A nurse practitioner is a great career choice to choose they also are called NPs.
