Because Of Winn-Dixie Summary This story is mostly about India Opal Buloni. Opal is a 10 year old girl that is the daughter of a preacher and does not have her mom with her. In this story all she really wants is some friends of her own. Considering she just moved to a new place in Naomi, Florida with a whole new community and no one knew Opal. In this story she learns that she can’t hold on to something forever and that she has to learn to let things go if they want to leave. Opal also learns not to judge someone with their past and to judge them about their present.
It all began when Opal rescues a dog Winn-Dixie. A Dog that is running all around the Winn-Dixie grocery store! Opal goes home and finds a way to convince the preacher (Her Father) to let her keep the dog for herself. Since the preacher has always advised her to help the less fortunate and that Winn-Dixie is a less fortunate. Winn-Dixie helps Opal with all of her problems since she in her in town and has no friends to talk to. For example Winn-Dixie helped her ask the preacher more about her momma and her past.
Throughout the summer Opal meets quite a few friends because of Winn-Dixie. She meets Miss. Franny Block a lady that works at a library. She needed to buy a leash and a collar …show more content…
About how her father went to war when he was only a teen and how when he came back he made delicious but also sorrowful tasting Litmus Lozenge candy. I think the most important character was Winn-Dixie because he brought everyone together and he helped Opal with her problems. I think the most important scene in this book is when Opal gets Winn-Dixie. I think that because everything starts to happen after Opal rescues Winn-Dixie.
