The movie “ Beasts of the Southern Wild” released in 2012 directed by Benh Zeitlin and the book , “Their Eyes Were Watching God” written by Zora Hurston published in 1937 are both natural disasters. The film “ Beasts of the Southern Wild” and the novel “Their Eyes Were Watching God” have some critical similarities. Hushpuppy went on a little adventure and she met her mom, but Hushpuppy didn't know. In the movie they gave big hints about her mother cooking alligator. In the book “Their Eyes” Janie’s mom also left her when she was younger because her father raped her mother and she was an a;chlic and she moved with her grandmother. In the book “Their Eyes” when the storm approached, Janie and Tea cake stayed back while everyone fled from the town. During the storm Tea cake was bitten by a dog with rabies during the flood trying to help Janie from drowning. In the film “Beasts” HushPuppy and Wink also had encountered a storm that flooded their home town, during the storm Wink also gotten sick during the storm. Tea Cake and Wink both end up passing away. In conclusion, The film “Beasts” and the book “Their Eyes” are similar is that both protagonists grew up around nature.
