Be A Team Player
Be a team player Both jobs require teamwork to support their roles. At times they need others to pick up their work and ensure projects do not suffer due to illness or absence. Therefore, we believe that being always prepared and able to temporarily involve into another role is an important element for the smooth running of the company.

The Bigger Picture Employees who have well all rounded experience have a greater understanding of the challenges being managed at every level of the projects. They appreciate the constraints and difficulties they face, for example, deadlines, budgets, and client relationship. Having an overview of the sector they work in gives an employee a sense of perspective in terms of their contribution to the team and the company as a whole.

Employee’s viewpoint To start off with, both jobs require teamwork to support their roles, and we believe that we have to train ourselves to be an all-rounder rather than solely focus on our majors. In the interview with Hana, as she is working in a small and developing business, at times she needs to pick up the work of her colleagues due to their illness or absence. For example, she has to handle the inventory check process and accounting management, instead of just focuses on her marketing work. Therefore, being always prepared and able to temporarily involve into another role is an important element for the smooth running of the tasks. Next, both jobs involve practical knowledge (financial accounting and marketing), therefore, applying knowledge learnt in class to our work is necessary. As being an audit , Tiffany needs to use the financial accounting knowledge to cope with her work. For Hana, she often uses the crucial marketing mix, four Ps, to determine a product or brand’s offer. Moreover, both jobs provide opportunities to communicate with the clients, especially doing marketing, and building good relationships with consumers is always a core matter for the employees. In the beginning of the semester our Team Leadership class was presented with the task to help make an organization’s team more effective. We had the freedom to choose who our desired organization could be and to observe them. After much thought and consideration, we chose to observe the Association of Information Technology Professionals, more commonly known as AITP. Our goal for this semester was to observe the AITP group and evaluate our findings to help them become more effective as a team. We would present our findings in a workshop setting, which would in turn, help them see areas where they can improve on.…

The group originally chose the project on respect towards older people aimed at 15-19 year olds however, following a group discussion decided to change the project to recognising stress in carers. This was because the group felt that the carers topic was currently highlighted in the media and there was a large volume of literature available from a variety of sources. The group also felt that the respect towards elders project was quite a broad topic which could be interpreted in many different ways which may have been challenging to convey on a poster. The group preferred a poster over a leaflet as they felt it could reach a wider audience when placed anywhere rather than someone having to physically collect a leaflet. The group also thought a poster would be more eye catching, easier to read and concise for stressed busy carers who wouldn’t want to read large volumes of text. 152 words…

The importance of teamwork lies in the significant effect that it produces, especially when being properly applied and managed. It creates flexibility and coordination among members and enables them to use their talents and participate in taking decisions. It also provides a good deal of acceptance, understanding and physical interaction, which cannot be gained individually. This is the reason why members rely on teamwork to get the feedback, attention and moral support which they constantly need. As a result, teamwork leads to a great improvement in the quality of work produced, making the process more fun and less frustrating.…
